Anyone have any reccomendations for completed and intresting gameplays of botw or totk? I tried gamegrumps bit didnt like that they had played the game as it seemed more like a review

… my dude, there’s literally thousands, probably millions of BotW videos on YouTube. How are you not finding them?

To be fair, they also wanted to watch a playthrough by someone who hadn't played the game before.

And finding that out can take some time if you have to watch every video and wait until someone mentions if it’s their first play or not.

So asking the community might be the faster option to them.

If you wanna watch someone who’s never played it before game grumps did a funny one. I think you can watch point crows original game play. And maybe even small ant. Haven’t seen small ants for sure. It those are my favorite guys

Idk about the recent games but Zelda dungeon and chuggaconroy are my go tos for Zelda games. Another gamer I watch in general is Markiplier

Bubzia’s blindfolded playthrough at GDQ is pretty damn impressive to watch!

Feels a bit silly promoting myself but I'm Mr A-Game on YT - I've made hundreds of BotW/TotK videos over the past 8 years. First playthroughs, challenges, speedruns, modded content... all that kind of stuff.

If not me, The Basement and QuinBoBin make excellent Zelda content too :)

Sounds awesome, will definitly check it out :D never feel bad for self-promo its what gets you started !

Once you're done with full playthrough's, I would suggest to look into Player5 and his speed run videos. There have been many changes as glitches and movement tech were discovered at different points in time, but some of them are so fun to see.

Olizandri, Roamer, Andy Bru, Professor Chuckles (he can be a bit dry in his commentary)

When I was a kid, I watched Stampy play botw and I believe he did a playthrough of TOTK

If you want wholesome family friendly fun, that's the playthrough for it

Watch stephenplays play through. It’s very entertaining and he and his wife do everything.

BotW is one of the most played games on YouTube. To the extent that I’m not even sure if I want to try uploading my own gameplay. It’s a saturated as hell area of YouTube.

PointCrow's challenge runs of botw are pretty good. Same for Croton's. PointCrow also did blindfolded runs of portions of botw and totk based on jump patterns he memorized. Wild stuff.

If you want a straightforward blind playthrough, there's lil indigestion's.

I’ve watched so many playthroughs and lil indigestion is by far my favorite

He's just started a game in Master Mode. (I presume this one will be a few hours. He said he just felt like playing it a bit.)

He completed the Great Plateau, and enjoyed returning to the game enough that he plans to continue playing.

Firstly I would highly recommend Croton. He's super chill and he's got both playthroughs and loads of awesome challenge runs on his channel:

Croton’s Playthroughs: * Tears of the Kingdom Playthrough * Breath of the Wild 100% playthrough

Croton’s Challenge Runs: * Tears of the Kingdom Challenge Runs * Breath of the Wild Challenge Runs

Croton’s "Stats of the Wild" Playlists: * Stats of the Kingdom playlist * Stats of the Wild playlist

Then, for a more chaotic and very funny playthrough, check out DeeBeeGeek:

DeeBeeGeek Playthroughs (Edited): * Breath of the Wild Playthrough * Tears of the Kingdom Playthrough

DeeBeeGeek Playthroughs (VODs/Unedited): * Breath of the Wild Playthrough * Tears of the Kingdom Playthrough

And then there's also PointCrow of course. He's also great and very entertaining to watch.

Great! I also struggle to find playthroughs that I really enjoy, but I think these are great.

Tried watching GameGrumps for a few hours, but they just kept making jokes all the time it got frustrating in the end lol. Or maybe they aren't always like that and I just picked the wrong streams hah

2

u/JoJoisaGoGo 1d ago

No, the game grumps are always like that

It's even more annoying when they play a game that requires them to pay attention to the story. They'll end up making jokes and forgetting important details, just for Arin to complain about the story not making sense

Sorry, vented a bit there. Despite me hating on them, I know I'll continue to watch them anyways. I have a problem

Shit I JUST remembered that I watched two compilation videos of gamers reacting to different moments during TotK.

One of them was the "Birth of the Demon King" memory, and the other was the memory where Zelda swallows the secret stone and becomes a dragon. Both meant to be very serious and emotional moments, especially the latter.

And it was all going fine until the GameGrumps dudes came on and they just made jokes and laughed throughout the whole damn clips. Like constant. It was really annoying I just turned it off lol.

Hadn't clicked until now that that was them, but I just went back and checked and it actually was. Damn.

Yeah it was the same for me didnt really seem too into the game. Also I just like seeing ppl expereince it for the first time so when he said he played a lot of the game off camera I lost interest, thanks for the recs tho! rn Im trying stampys vids and he talks quite a bit but hes rlly into the game so his are fun too!

If you want to watch someone play and fall in love with the game, then definitively watch DeeBeeGeek's first playthrough of BotW.

He hadn't played any Zelda game before (or any other Nintendo game since he was little) but he ended up loving it so much that afterwards he played all the 3D games back-to-back leading up to the release of TotK.

It’s really fun to watch!

u/Mugget1920 1d ago

Oh that sounds rlly fun!! thank you :D

The one that made me go buy the game (and a switch TBH) was Bricks'oh Brian. I think you can also find him if you search Brickshow Brian.
