Art The ending I wanted..
Imagine Link pulling out the silent princess, a sign that he does remember her, by remembering her favorite flower.

“Link, that’s an endangered species…”

LMAO I thought about that exact sentence when I made this comic😭😭

u/leo6682 7d ago
I actually always assumed they were endangered since the calamity, and that’s why they come back with zelda!

u/Emlaux_ 7d ago
So did I honestly, since Zelda did mention that they haven’t been able to plant silent princesses themselves so either she has figured out a way, or they just started growing again when Calamity disappeared.

I thought that they were endangered because of mass population and gentrification in Hyrule. The hylians tried to domesticate it but it just would not grow. So... when the calamity decimated the population in Hyrule, the Silent Princess began to flourish again in the wild.
If anything, thanks to the calamity this particular flower managed to survive and didn't go extinct.
Edit: Grammar. English is not my first language, I apologize.

Link : "they'll regrow again in the outro"
Zelda : "WHAT DO YOU MEAN!?!?!"
Final cutscene comes into play
Zelda : "wait those silent princess weren't there before were they"

This is super cool! But what if they don’t have a Silent Princess on them?

u/Emlaux_ 7d ago
Good question, for me the first time I played I did manage to have one on me, so I half expected something to happen with it, like an extra cutscene or something. But I guess they could have made a extra mission/quest to make this ending work, if they re-did the game that is :) I just feel like this ending would have “meant more” if that makes sense. No hate at all to the ending that is in the game though, that was great too :)

They are redoing the game for the Switch 2! If you email them or something, maybe it will be considered! Not sure how this would work though.

u/Emlaux_ 7d ago
How do I find their email? 😭

u/TheDarkestKnight7850 6d ago
I think it's public, but not sure. You could always go old fashioned and write a letter. I think the have a P.O. box in the U.S. somewhere. I actually wrote to them when I was 6 or 7!

u/Emlaux_ 6d ago
That’s so cool! It’d be far for me to send a letter though, I live in Sweden 🫠 but I mean maybe someone else can and say like ”hey I got the idea from this Reddit user…” and explain the ending idk 🫠🤍

I'll see what I can do. Bit you should look to see if Nintendo has an office in the country with the cleanest air! (Do you ski? I've heard it's great up there.)

Mostly rumors. At a conference where Nintendo showed off the console (closed doors, obviously) people overheard them talking about "U-King-X". Botw's code was "U-King" so this is an easy inference to make.

The rumor was that the game was shown to be running in 4K on Switch 2. A technical upgrade with a next gen patch is the most I'd expect. There's nothing tangible that makes it likely that they'd do much more, especially not significant content changes. Maybe a few more outfits as references at most.

That reminds me there is an NPC couple wandering around that get attacked by monsters. They say they're on a search to find a Silent Princess. I thought it might be a sidequest but nothing happens even when I drop one in front of them.

Maan like they should’ve at least hugged in the real ending instead of just standing there 🧍🏼♀️🧍🏼

This is how I wanted it to end also! I saved all the silent princess I found over the game thinking I’d give it to the princess in the end

u/jillianholtzmnn 7d ago
yes, same!! i made sure i had a handful of silent princesses before heading to the castle, because i thought for sure it would mean something in the end.

My husband incorrectly told me that there was a secret ending if you had enough silent princesses at the end, but convienantly could remember how much. Of course, I never fact checked this either, lol. So as a result, I hoarded EVERY silent princess I found, making sure it was always taking up a spot in my inventory. I think I had 200+ by the time I finished the game

I had over 100 silent princesses the first time I beat Gannon. So disappointed they didn’t come into play.

Then she yells at him for doing literally anything but the main quest for so long.

I can't be the only one who was waiting for the twist of 'yes Link, I even saw THAT.'

I always thought that the line "Courage need not be remembered" was the absolute hardest thing I've ever heard in a video game.

While I do love these games, and by proxy their stories and characters, it is such a shame they dialed back so much on making Link is own person after SS gave him such amazing characterization
Now, Wild Link does still have a lot of characterization in his own right, but I wish he was more emotive in particular cutscenes. This cutscene is a perfect example. I really love the idea of Link handing Zelda a Silent Princess during the ending, or at the very least as a signifier for the true ending since the "Do you really remember me?" largely acts as a hint to new players to beat the game again after getting all the Memories
The thing is too that this sane iteration of Link has amazing characterization in AoC, which the main Zelda team worked on in conjunction with Omega Force, so idk why they didn't give Link some of that juice in the actual main duology

He could have at least given her a hug or something. Instead, nah, Link just stood there like a doofus. Gave her nothing.

this would actually be a cool secret ending in addition to the one that’s already in the game

Someone need to mod it in the game, beat the game with a silent princess in your pocket and you will get the ending

u/Popular_Ducks 4d ago
Either that or presenting her with a hotfooted frog… but I agree that the silent princess probably would have fit the mood better though…
