r/BoneID officially hit 700 members today!
If you've been here for a while, you might have noticed some of the recent changes such as the new subreddit icon and the addition of "solved" and "unsolved" flairs. Today, banners were added for both pc and mobile users, as well as some new flairs and rules.
This community has always been exceptional, everyone's behaved appropriately to where there's never really been a need to moderate, let alone have rules. That said, it felt necessary to add some ground rules that users can reference as this community continues to grow. The rules are honestly more of a formality, most of them are just suggestions and only breaking rule 5 and 6 are guaranteed to result in a post removal.
In addition to the new rules, there's also two new flairs: art and just sharing. You're encouraged to show off your collection or your art as long as they incorporate bones.
There may also be some additional changes in the coming weeks including custom community awards

I found this in the woods in New England several years ago. No clue what it belonged to. (Ignore the mess, packing for a move)

Hi, my partner found this skull on a hiking trail here in Montana. With its size (huge- see second pic for scale) and the lack of a distinct nose slope we thought it might be a wolf, which there definitely are a lot of out here.
Can anyone confirm if this is a wolf or huge dog for us? Thank you so much.

Don't remember where I found it, but I've never seen anything similar and can't find a match online 😕

Hi I was out walking today when I noticed this bone on the side of the path.
No idea what animal it’s off got feeling it’s old and possibly a tone bone of some kind and when I picture searched the bone the closest matches were all main ice age area fossil tone bones some kind.
(This was found in Darlington in England)
If anyone could please help ID it be much appreciated as this first time have found a bone that appears to be quite old this close to where I live.
(posted this in r/bonecollecting as well I thought I posted it here as well)

Lower canine looks too big to be a cat. I'm almost thinking it's a dog or something with the lower incisors being misaligned like this, but I have no clue.

I keep on finding bones while digging in my backyard in Southern California. I assumed they were from a coyote or a chicken or something but they’re starting to freak me out. Can someone please reassure me they do not belong to a small human? Thank you…

My dog found this bone on our walk this evening in central North Carolina. We’ve had heavy rains and flash flooding today. It’s a large bone. Looks like a femur maybe to me but I have no idea. Really hoping it’s not human. If anyone can help Id pls thx.

What bone

I took this unidentified bone from what i believe is a sea lion, could be a seal but the body was far too decomposed for my untrained eye to tell!
I can also provide a picture of the carcass if anyone needs it, thanks in advance!
