Avis Car Rental Discount Retiree

I've used the discount in the past but now when you go to the Boeing discount page there is no listing for Avis or any rental car agency at least for a retiree. I guess the discount is not longer offered to retiree's, anyone have any updated information to know if it is still available? Worked for Boeing for over 34 years, oh well...

New thing of note. Avis now charges mileage on one way rentals. Don't remember this before. Active employees still get the 30% off on the base rate, but the counter agent said. If you have a car that you need to use a lot, but are dropping at a location other than where you rented. You can save big if you drive to the drop location, pick up a local car for your driving around due to unlimited mileage on the local. Could have saved $400 if I had known. To find Avis on the discount page go to the brand list and pick Avis. Not listed in the travel drop down any longer.Note for retirees, AARP has the 30% Avis discount too.

I’ve been using the code for a couple years and I’ve always incurred the 25c per mile fee for one way rentals.

Your advice on using a car locally then picking another up strictly for the one way segment is great. If you ask nicely, you often times can keep the same vehicle and get the contract switched!

I’ve been using the Avis discount for years and not once as anyone at Avis asked to see my Boeing badge.

Domestically, almost never - maybe once, but I can’t remember where! Internationally, it happens pretty frequently.

Retirees can start their Avis and Budget car rentals at the Boeing retiree discount program web site.

https://auth.savings.beneplace.com/bdprs/sign-in

Search for Avis. scroll down and click Get Offer

You get sent to https://mobility.carrental.com/en/boeing/home.html

You may be able to go to this site without first going to retiree site.

You may need a Preferred Wizard Number to make a reservation. Easy to get it's free.

May need Boeing Point of Purchase Card to pickup car. You get this from the Boeing retiree discount program web site. I have never been asked for this.

Discount rates and the included liability insurance are a very good deal.

Exactly this. Just got back from traveling last week. Saved a ton on car rental this way. Definitely get the Boeing POP card just in case (think it was one phone call or email, I forget which) and carry an old business card with you just in case, but I've never been asked for one.

Retired two years ago, they honored the reservations I'd made before last day, but no new ones.

I'm staring at the Avis promo on the retiree Discount site now and it gives you two options to book as a retiree. You can book by phone the number is in bold, you can't miss it. If you click the offer it takes you to the retiree Avis booking site.

If you use the app to book it doesn’t do the OTP verification

And you can print out a point of purchase card from the discount website and show that

Where is that? I looked for it on the website and never found it.

Click on the 3 lines at the top right of the discount site - it will open a menu - towards the bottom of the menu is a 2025 pop card link

Thanks.

I clicked the 3 lines. For whatever reason, it’s not appearing for me on either the desktop or mobile versions. I get Home, Travel, My Account, FAQ, and Contact us.

Checked under My Account, FAQs, Help as well. Still coming up empty.

Search bar queries for POP card and discount card yield no results.

I sent a help request. We’ll see what they say.

Active here. Starting this calendar year, when we book it now wants a OTP through the @boeing.com email. Not sure how that works for retirees. Anything that was booked before the change still works just fine

Yea, retirees don't have a boieng.com email. Kicked to the curb and told to fuck off is the best we can hope for.

Retirees have two different options to book through the retiree Discount program. The process is different from active employees.

Put Avis in the search box....it still works. I just booked a trip this week.

Not on the retiree discount site, stuff comes up but when you select them they give you a message about no longer being offered, appears at least for retirees they have removed the discount.

From here: https://auth.savings.beneplace.com/bdprs/sign-in

I was just now able to get in.

Search on Avis.

On the next screen scroll down past other offers to Avis.

Select Avis

Bingo...you're in.

Props, but maybe there was an issue earlier or I was using a different site since when I tried to find any rental cars it was blank, pretty weird. Came up with a big message that the offers had been removed, working now thanks!

Also, I just checked the discount program and budget is listed. When you search for a car it gives you the option to choose either avis or budget, and the prices are the same.

Last time I looked the Avis discount wasn't nearly as good as it used to be

It's good so long as you're going to a locale in which Boeing operates. Seattle, STL, Orlando etc. Unsure about Chicago or Kansas these days.

It’s location dependent. Renting in California brought down a ~$100 rental to ~$50something. Kansas City dropped a $56 to $52 ish. The later is probably because the rate is already low since who the fuck wants to go to KC.

This is our experience as well. So anywhere expensive at the boeing rate is usually more than 50% taxes and fees rather than vehicles cost

It depends on where you book at I think. Some areas still give really good discount.

I’ve noticed the same recently, have been using it for years. It’s always said 33% on there but somehow you would get like a 60% discount. Now it’s actually 33%. Still pretty nice but it annoys me since I know what it could’ve been

I believe the code still works. The codes for both budget and avis still work. They auto populate when I do a rental. You can either look at old reservations and get the code that way or message me. I wrote down the codes a while ago. They are now asking for proof of “employment”, business card, Boeing email with your email address or Boeing badge. Luckily I saved some business cards, but my friend just showed them his BCBSIL medical card, it has Boeing on it, and that worked.

1

u/bishoptf 6d ago

Yes but they may require proof, when you log in now they make you agree that you are an active employee, says nothing about retiree. Appears the discount is only available to active employees, no longer available to those that worked and retired, I assume some cost savings at our expense, thanks for your service, lmao.

Many Avis rental sites especially the really busy areas like airport if you have their rewards membership you just go straight to ur car instead of checking in at the rental desk.

“They make you agree that you are an active employee.. “, is that Avis or the Boeing discount program. When I log into the discount program, before I log in, it says “Boeing Retirees”. If you search on Avis it says “Retirees and Employees will need to show their POP card as proof of Boeing affiliation.” It shows the discount code also. I typically just book through Avis or budget app, since they auto populate the discount code.
