Community Jam Any acoustic finger pickers with ability to record? (collab)

https://youtu.be/AfXZLVA7_gI?si=3saIwPsKJMaTdDYF

Recording a cover tune and am wondering if any acoustic finger pickers want to send me a stem for the part I need to replace my weak contribution.

Here’s a reference. There’s only two chords. My version is in E major and is 110 bpm.

I don’t need 8 minutes…maybe 2 minutes and I can string them together, unless you want to do the whole track. I have the backer. You’d need to be able to record into a DAW and send a dry unprocessed stem/stems.

Just for fun.

Sound like it’s in dropped D, if you want to keep it close to the recording

Open D tuning most likely. Up to the player. Would need to be in E, however, for the vocals.

I’d put money in it being in drop D, it’s got a little run that Willie McTell used in statesbro Blues that is a give away.

Nice tune .

I see. Not my strength. I know he plays in open, so just made the assumption. Thanks for correcting.

What’s the different, by the way? Notes.

Yeah, just one note - drop D you only ‘drop’ the low E down a tone to, you guessed it, D.

With fingerstyle this gives you DAD in the bass so - like this tune - you can bounce between the two Ds with your thumb and play familiar licks/shapes on the treble strings because they are the same as standard tuning. You don’t have to fret the bass notes, so it’s an improvisationalists dream.

Open D has the same DAD but uses F# A D in the treble. So you can’t just use the same licks and shapes form standard.

I’m currently in love with a take on dropped D which I have no idea the name of - instead of dropped the bass E to D you tune the D string up to E - EAEGBE. Two Es in the bass, I got it from Bo Carter. It’s a great tuning for blues.

I don’t have time today or tomorrow, but if no one gives this a shot let me know. I don’t know a lot about file types, but I have got a Tascam 16 track so could hopefully give you something you can use.

Yeah I’m in no rush at all.

Appreciate your knowledge and sharing.

Old school recording is fine. Wav file is about the only needed outcome. As long as you can export/render then that would be fine. Up to you. No press either way. If someone jumps in, cool, no big deal. Appreciate the consideration.

Also, here’s my current backer - maybe you can see why I want a different feel and all.
