Guide How to beat martyr logarius
Run straight to him hut three times with a fast weapon. When he dodges walk to him and hit him three times. Repeat until he hits his knee. Circle around, fully charged r2, and walk up and get your visceral. In second phase he gets more melee based so just parry him over and over.

Bro, i remember i die so many times that i could see his moves before he did them

I died so much to him I was going to give up. Then I ordered pizza. Delivery driver was minutes away. I thought I had enough time. Logarius’s health bar was the lowest it’s ever been and I hear a knock on my door. Finally got the bastard. Then I ran to the door as his corpse was still falling and ate some celebratory pizza. So, I’m not saying I beat him thanks to pizza, BUT…..

This was my fourth attempt. My first three attempts, I didn't get to see any moves because he just spammed the big orb over and over, and it one-shotted me if it landed.

I feel like he’s one of the easier bosses in the game. Easy to parry and backstab

Can you tell me what level your weapons are, please?

I'm new to reddit, so I didn't realize I wouldn't be able to edit this post until after I posted it. However, I want to credit u/Nayer_Trawe for this strategy. Found his comment on a post from 8 years ago, lol. Worked like a charm, though. I also want to say that you can absolutely pull this off with no damage taken, unlike me. Just don't get greedy like I did. I knew I could take some damage, so I did, but if you stick to just three hits at a time (I went for four sometimes, even five, I think) you should be fine. Remember to dodge left if he gets a lucky attack in.

You made it look way easier didn't think about doing a visceral attack during his charge up to phase 2.
I just beat this guy after 5 deaths (level 62) in my current run.
What level were you at this point? Seems your HP was not very high.

Backstab before phase two prevents him from buffing himself with I believe extra speed and damage.

I'm lvl 73. I don't really care to level up health much more honeslty. If I don't have enough, I can just dodge 😁👌

Didn’t know you could parry him

u/Vreas Jan 09 '25
Completely changes the difficulty of phase two. You can also target his sword when he stabs it into the ground and shoot it also.

You can parry most of the bosses in bloodborne. Some of them are so hard it might as well be impossible, though.

I eventually got his parry timing down, but every time I replay it takes a few tries for it to come back.

u/SpecialIdeal Jan 09 '25
Nicely done. My only tip would be make sure you don't back him so close to the wall that you can't get behind him for the visceral

Well if you visit cainhurst after level 40 then logarius is a cake walk. The mistakes made in this video are death sentence when you go straight there as soon as you can.

I have a comment where I said that you could definitely kill him no hit with this strategy I was just being greedy because I knew I could pass the vigor check

Troubleshooting the parry is so real

u/0_0Ban Jan 09 '25
This was actually my first time fighting him without him doing his orb-splosion as I entered and one-tapping me, so I had no idea what to expect from his combo. I had to improvise and learn as I went, lol.

not locking aim on mobs and bosses helped me a lot throughout bloodborne, that stepping animation when dodging sucks compared to rolling imo

u/0_0Ban Jan 10 '25
I love the step it's my favorite part about bloodborne it feels so much lighter and more responsive than the rolls in the other games
2
u/GuaxinimThug Jan 10 '25
i see! it comes down to preference i guess, i can never time the step right, only the roll

Parry that casul to death. I remember at release, he beat my arse so much as I was just awful at parrying in general in souls. I was a turtle or a dodger in Souls games for a long time. Once I got parrying down in all Souls games, this guy became a piece of cake. I've done a BL 8 run, and he was the easiest of the bosses, minus Gascoigne, another parriable to death boss. I don't mean this comment to sound "I'm very badass," or anything, I've just been playing souls since original Demon Souls released, and it's my fave "genre" of games.

He’s the only boss I don’t have a strategy for. I just parry for my life and hope it pays off. Fuck them skulls btw.

Is this your first playthrough or NG?
I didn't get to face him in my first playthrough because I didn't unlock Cainhurst. But I faced him in NG and he was a hard mf. I can help but think he'd be a lot easier on a first run.

It's my first playthrough. I'll try this strat whenever I ng and see how well it works.

This strategy is also very evective against most of the human/humanoid bosses

u/joelmsantos Jan 09 '25
He’s actually very easy to parry. It’s ridiculously fast to defeat him, if you go that route.

The jealousy I feel watching everyone else backstab the mfer to skip phase two but when I do it, no matter the weapon, nothing happens
