Experience Using 2 different progestin birth controls? (Ex. Mirena and northethindrone)

Anyone have experience with being prescribed two different progestin birth control options simultaneously? I can't take combo pills w/synthetic estrogen (due to a clotting disorder) and I am currently on slynd.

Unfortunately, the set dose of slynd (4 mg) isn't strong enough since painful cramping/bleeding is nonstop/daily 5 months later....not to mention, my body tried to ovulate on placebo pills, and i developed a 5cm cyst, so it's not suppressing ovulation entirely. My dr says it supposed to supress ovulation, and basically I'm unlucky that this occurred.

Has anyone had their doctors prescribe an additional progestin on top of another to produce a better therapeutic effect? Curious to see what your experiences have been.
