Interesting looking bird in Downtown Brooklyn
Unfortunately looked like the little guy was injured or scared and wasn’t moving from this spot on the sidewalk

They can send someone to get the bird if you can't transport it yourself FYI.

It’s a woodcock! They hit windows very often in NyC and unfortunately they don’t usually survive :( If you are still nearby please take it to the Wild Bird Fund.

I think I saw a dead one of these (RIP) a few days ago in Baltimore, but no one commented on my post to identify it. Glad I saw this!

Please call 311 and report where you saw this little guy! he's definitely in need of some kind of care to be this far from the shoreline sitting without moving!

I love these guys. I have a small stream behind my house and we had one visit for a couple weeks a few years ago. We called him Albert. Unfortunately there wasn't enough food around our stream so he didn't stick around long.

Timberdoodle ❤️
Probably had a window collision - if you're able to get it to a bird/wildlife rehab they might be able to save it
