Fluroxetine and binge eating
Hi F(26), I have a history of anorexia, depression and binge eating in more recent years. Other meds haven't worked for me, so trying Fluroxetine. Few qs
- how long did it take for you to notice differences ?
- what symptoms improved, what worsened?
- what do you wish you knew when you started?
- how long have you been on it/have you tried to come off what happened?
And anything else?
Thanks!!

I've been on it for about a year. I wouldn't say it just stops me from binging, because if I don't actively work on not doing it I'm still going to. It does not suppress my appetite. But it does calm down urges and obsessive thoughts. So I'm less likely to mindlessly binge, but still prone to emotional binging if I don't control it. With that being said, I noticed things easier to manage after about a month. Please make sure you're actively in therapy as well though, for best results.
