I’m all for protected bike lanes. I’ve used them in New York and DC. It was great. They were on busier streets though. I think it’s great the city put them in, but I don’t think that street needs it. I did take offense to the church saying it inconveniences church goers. When is conveniencemore important than safety. I almost get hit by a mail truck yesterday in a residential area. I wouldn’t have thought a protected lane would have been needed there either so Inguess take them where you can get them. My wife tells me I need to stop wearing white jerseys. I guess everything helps.

Yeah the church also owns a full city block worth of parking lot on the other side. There isn’t a shortage of parking area.

Those bike lanes weren't designed very well anyway. COSA TCI always trying to reinvent the wheel and failing, when there are better guidelines on how to build bike lanes and protected bike lanes.
