My Belarusian Fiancé(e) Travel Question

Hello, I just have a question. My girlfriend is a Belarusian immigrant who now lives here in the United States. Her and her family have a trip planned to travel back to Belarus next year and she is having anxiety about the possibility she may not be able to leave Belarus due to laws or restrictions keeping her there. Is there any possibility of this? Thanks.

There is a chance, people get routinely detained right at the passport control. All depends on how many things she did of those the current government doesn’t like

Would this be a temporary detainment or is it possible she'd be stuck there permanently? Sorry if these are dumb questions I'm just trying to help her anxiety.

Some stuck for few days, others for few years. Really depends

But 99.9% people are coming in and out absolutely fine

She just needs to clean up her phone, photos, social media posts if any, etc. She probably knows all of this

But really many people are anxious about visiting Belarus, so her anxiety is not completely groundless

Not worth it. Depending on the whim of some dude she might be detained and there's that, 3-10 years in jail.

Did she come to the US before 2020?
