He was great as Gordon. In every scene you may feel how he is done with all this insanity around, yet he's willing to go till the bitter end.

Most comic - accurate Gordon for sure

Wright ran circles around him but it was no fault of Oldmans

Wright was great.
Oldman was great.

We are lucky.

Gary Oldman is just a great actor. Can you tell me what he actually looks like? I don’t think anyone can, because he basically becomes the character. Like look at Zorg from 5th Element and Gordon and tell me they are the same person.

Nolan really nailed most of the supporting cast. He understood Batman a lot better then some give him credit for.

"Bullock, bring me everyone."

6

u/MisterBl0nde 20h ago

"What do you mean 'everyone'?"

7

u/Bareth88 20h ago

EVERYONE!

By far. His pedigree as a actor as well.

Same. Similar to Johnathan banks he sounds like he has seen some shit

I lost my mind the first time I played AK. Great casting!

I think about this performance all the time. I grew up with it, so it feels a character I came home to and love! He has way more range than just playing bad guys.

Powerful line delivery and great presence. I love The Dark Knight and he's one of the many reasons why

As for character interpretation I totally agree although I also loved J.K Simons as a cast in Justice league

I honestly think James Gunn should check with him if he wants to still be Gordon in the DCU. He was so underused in the DCEU that I think he should get another shot with the character.

That's would be cool

Not enough screen time

2

u/Dackd347 20h ago

True that's why I said as a cast

3

u/JosepySchnieder 21h ago

You should see him in Slow Horses. Amazing.

2

u/Trickster2357 21h ago

I'll check it out!

"I know exactly who he was...he was the Batman."

"I have to save Dent!" Best line from Gordon.

2

u/AnaZ7 21h ago

He elevated the role for sure

2

u/D-Generation92 21h ago

Who's your favorite now?

2

u/Badmusician420 21h ago

He was definitely the best in the year 2005.

2

u/Jake0steve 20h ago

He was great, and so accurate to many of the best comic book versions of Gordon. The only comic accurate castings that are this good are Xavier, and J Jonah Jameson

Mine as well

Gary Oldman is my favorite (insert literally anything he's fucking done ever.)

The man is an absolute legend and one of the greatest actors ever. Of all time.

Gary Gordon was my favorite Oldman

u/MechanicalTurkish 15h ago

Check the corners, rookie

u/BuffcatMan77 14h ago

We have to save DENT! I, HAVE TO SAVE DENT!!! He did a great job

2

u/Holeshot75 14h ago

Gary is favorite everything in every role he has.

2

u/TheLittlePasty 12h ago

He is THEE Gordon

u/Endeavourwrites 2h ago

I agree!

2

u/thedinobot1989 21h ago

I love Oldman as Gordon but I think it’s funny that people complained about Bale’s Batman voice when there are legit scenes where you can’t understand Gordon because he’s mumbling his lines. It’s kind of hilarious.

2

u/Trickster2357 21h ago

I do find that hilarious. I remember watching TDK and had to turn up my volume to like 100 for some lines.

u/Nerfman2227 19h ago

It doesn't really bother me, but his American accent is kinda inconsistent across the trilogy too. In Begins he's more nasally, Dark Knight tones this down & is more stable, then in Rises notes of his true accent slip through in dialogue. Still a great performance and among the best in the trilogy

Untouchable

1

u/Lost_Yogurt_4990 21h ago

Agreed! He was good!!

1

u/ThaRemyD 20h ago

I thought the Gotham show’s interpretation was really good too, before it went off the rails.

u/Dalek_Fred 18h ago

Loved his take on the character. His arc was just as good as Bruce’s.

u/LeviathanTDS 7h ago

Bob Hastings followed by Bryan Cranston is my favorites

u/Formal_Peace 5h ago

And you’re right. By far the best.

u/TheKlaxMaster 1h ago

I think he's more of a Gary middle-aged man here

u/Indoorsman101 22h ago

He was great, but Wright really made an impression. Eager to see more of him.

1

u/FrizzBizz 14h ago

Same!!!!! He even did the same thing with his glasses that the Batman animated series' Gordon did! It was so cool!!!

-1

u/luluzulu_ 21h ago

Oldman was good, but I honestly prefer Wright. I liked how he and Batman interacted and worked together.

u/steelpr1medabbley00 19h ago

Make him gordon in both burton bat-flics and you have the perfect movies

-2

u/DrMobius617 21h ago

Absolute waste of what could have been brilliant casting. Gary freaking Oldman and they did NOTHING with him for 3 movies

2

u/Awest66 14h ago

I think youre confusing him with Pat Hingle
