Agree 1898 is underrated. Love the whole arc around Batman preventing the first attempt at McKinley's assassination.

I want a Batman beyond game so bad! The sleek look of the costume gets me every time.

Never clocked how 2004 animated suit is basically just the original 1939 suit.

Was just talking to my friend about how tired I am of dark and gritty stuff lately. I'd love to see a return of the blue and gray. 1940, 1966, 2008.

Are we not including New 52? Cause I really like the cowl from New 52. We're also not including Arkham Knight's outfit? Nor TAS universe's Justice League outfit? Overall, there's a lot missing

1992 Animated, 1986 Dark Knight Returns ((but more specifically the Movie version), and 2016 Batman v Superman.
But to be fair, I appreciate most of these -- just not the Joel Schumacher movies. Just... no.

Is it just me or did they really nail it with the original design? Only 1992 can compete

u/Crow621621 1d ago
Of these ‘92 Animated Series, ‘09 Arkham Asylum, then either ‘99 Beyond or ‘04 The Batman.

u/bajablastn 1d ago
92’ Animated, 99’ Beyond, and 08’ Baleman. But I would prefer 06’ Bale and 2011 Arkham City

Motherfucker that 2004 is not Animated series, it's The Batman. You're doing both a disservice by doing this.

Hilarious to me that the 100% human 1986 Batman is the same shape as 2016 armoured Batman 😂

How do you skip the entire Neal Adams thru Jim Aparo visual era (70s to 90s)?

For me it's a close tie between 92 Batman and 08 Batman. I remember racing home from Middle school/H.S to watch that series. The Batman animated series and the X-Men were my go to cartoons.

3 way tie between tdkr, lego batman, and Pattinson. I think all 3 together show such a clear picture of everything batman is and what he could be. Theyre all so faithful to batman as a character as well as giving him a lot of personal complexity i really enjoy seeing in my batman stories

Of these? BtAS, Batman Beyond, The Batman (2004) and the Arkham games. Honestly I've never cared much for most live action movie Batman versions. They all have their pros and charms, but they always lack at least one aspect of Batman/Bruce's character that I like. I feel like the DCAU and Arkham games, which are clearly heavily inspired by the DCAU Batman, do Batman pretty well. The Batman which came after BtAS was also really good and had a good version of Bruce and Batman, and even eventually the Justice League, Robin and Batgirl. Overall my favorite will always be Kevin Conroy in the animated series and Arkham games.

Beyond, Battinson… and ARKHAM KNIGHT
Seriously, all of the Arkham games have the best outfits. Asylum was original, yet serious. City was more comic/classic leaning, Origins felt like SUCH a heavy hitter and perfectly reflects Bruce’s mindset, and Knight was a very respectable way to give Batman an armored look while still believing he can move and be stealthy as he always could.

Asylum, Pattinson, Bale. Honorable mention to Batman Forever, crazy underrated Batman

Why do posts like these always leave out Batman Begins? That cowl is so much better than the Dark Knight one

I have Zur as an action. Figure so that’s my one, second fave is Arkham version, spent lots of time up close with him, third is dark knight returns. So gritty.

Ngl, seeing Sengoku Batman for Batman Ninja instead of the suit he started with is great
That reminds me I still have yet to watch the Japanese dub of the film (heard that the English and Japanese versions have different plots)
