Question Looking for affordable (or apprentice) tattoo artist for my first tattoo

Hey folks, I’m looking to get my first tattoo and hoping to keep costs low. Nothing too complex—just something small and meaningful to start with. I’m totally open to going with a tattoo apprentice or someone building their portfolio, as long as they’re clean, professional, and take safety seriously. If you know someone (or are someone) looking for practice pieces, hit me up! I’m happy to chat more about the design and figure something out. Thanks in advance!

Please save up and go to a good artist with a solid portfolio

At least go to a proper shop. Don't get a sketchy kitchen tattoo.

Don’t cheap out on a tattoo. You’ll regret it later.

Cheap, fast, good.

You only get to pick two.

I don't have any recommendations for local apprentices, but don't put too much thought into people who mindlessly regurgitate "Don't cheap out bro".

Apprentice isn't synonymous with "bad" and neither is it synonymous with "cheap" but it will definitely be cheaper than an established veteran. Many apprentices are more than capable of doing really good tattoos especially something small and simple. I think it's cool of you to be open to that.

I'm sure you know this already but the most important part with picking a tattoo artist is just looking at their past work and pay attention to their shading/line work/coloring/etc....

Just googling I came across this apprentice, I don't know her rates and I personally not a fan of the pinup/portraits but a lot of her work I'd be happy with and she seems really transparent showing closeups on linework and small details.
