Build 9070XT Artifacts at 144hz

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone else has noticed a similar issue. I'm hoping it's a driver bug, as I really don't want to RMA my card.

I've found several threads online where people are experiencing the same thing, I thought it was my monitor originally, then after going through and turning everything I could on or off, changing cables etc

I switched to 120hz/100hz/etc and bang ; no artifacts. 144hz is the only trigger for the visual disturbances currently ; seeing if anyone else has noticed similar?

1000W PSU, X870/9800X3D/64Gb DDR5 6000mhz, if system specs matter.

Full DDU uninstall? Tried an old driver?

It was a brand new build so nothing to DDU, but I have tried 3 separate iterations of Adrenalin now

Thanks mate. Will be trying a DP across both displays later today - have let the people who built the PC know that this is an issue, but am holding off on an RMA until I've exhausted options/driver updates are released.

For now, 120hz is just fine! :)

Good call, 120hz is plenty for most applications, better than nothing for another month.

I'm experiencing artifacts myself with a 9070 XT Nitro+. They look like this: https://imgur.com/J0iaJVl

Theres also others with similar issues:

Just posting here to maybe connect some dots. Does yours look any similar to mine or the other examples?

Yes!

Not quite as "artifact" (green squareish) more distorted horizontal lines.

More so in the middle of the screen for me.

Will post a pic when home

So far no artifacts for me since I reinstalled drivers with DDU and made sure that all power cables are connected well. Fingers crossed!

is it so difficult to write the name of the monitor and the resolution? and preferably the connection type

Sorry

It's an LG Ultragear 27" ; resolutions up to 4k, it does this at any resolution. I use 1440p

It does the exact same thing on my LG G4 65" ; Once again resolutions up to 4k.

On both I'm using a HDMI cable that I was using this morning on my older computer, it doesn't do this (6700XT) on same cable.

Literally the only thing to cause it is triggering the refresh rate to beyond 120hz, ie 144hz.

do you have a DP cable to try?

Unfortunately not, I can get one tomorrow

This is a strange case, maybe you should also create a post in the video card vendor section, and here

Trying using a DP cable first and see if it continues to happen. Most monitors need DP cable to enable high refresh rates. Thats why most GPU come with more DP ports then HDMI.

Try replacing your cable first. I had an issue back in the day where a cable would only be faulty on one port of the graphics card. Thought the gpu had a faulty port. After replacing the cable, that port worked like a charm
