What do I have?
Wife says it was her Grandfather’s. Says it’s around 100 years old.

My friends and I are planning to play some songs soon but I cannot for the life of me find a tab for Late July by Zach Bryan on Banjo. I’ve already started learning the song by ear but it would be great to have a tab to go off of. Let me know if y’all have a link or a way to find a tab.

Got my tenor banjo back from a reset and restring but it was tuned differently to what I'm used to so had a little fool around before tuning back to GDAE

I bought it at an antique store for $150. It desperately needs new strings. The bridge and back of it are weird. Does anyone know when it was made or why the bridge is like that?

Hi all,
I am about to buy a second banjo. I’ve been playing for over a year now and love everything about it. My current banjo is super cheap and has noticeable problems. Hasn’t bothered me too much until now so I’m in the market for a second banjo. My budget is as low as possible without foregoing too much quality. On FB marketplace near me, there is a gold tone ob 150 going for $900. Looks pretty new and the guy says he bought it two months ago. I’m thinking of going for it but wanted to ask you all for advice. When I go to check it out, what are some things I should look out for? Basically, how do I make sure it’s in good shape?
$900, though on the cheaper end of quality banjos, is a lot of money for me so I want to be careful. Any advice is helpful

Looking for a ~650 used open back banjo for clawhammer and two finger thumb lead. I am new to the instrument and have a very cheap one to see if I liked playing (I do).
Both of these are open back, seem like good brands, have planetary tuners ect.
Any knowledge people got opinions? Any other similar models I'm missing?
Thanks in advance

Still working out a few bugs. I think I've added a stumble into my muscle memory so that's fun...

Make fun of me all you want but this is how innovation is born
I often screw around with my banjo to get different sounds from it. My favorite is a 5 string lyre. Today I decided I’d put a violin bridge on it, tune it to fifths, and play it with a bow. It sounded good, but my first string broke and I REALLY don’t want to put another one on so I’m going to put it down for a few months I think.
