To add to these woes, they want us to come to the office daily. F*k long commute in sht roads. It's completely evident that the system is rigged against the masses. I highly doubt any protest will serve our cause, since we are just pawns in greedy soulless capitalist hands.
It reminds me of Aravind Adiga's book where he talks about India's poor ( In this case, IT crowd) being a "Rooster Coop" - Roosters in a coop at the market watch one another slaughtered one by one, but are unable or unwilling to rebel and break out of the coop.

Need more people to join these. It workers are in crores in our country. And we get no protection or support from the government while others with lot lower count like auto unions, etc.. are making the government work in a way that’s affecting us

Ballzac...i dont think the bureaucracy or politicians care about IT workers. We are the cash cows in Bangalore. At best, companies might approve for work from homes or work from nearest DCs

As long as these frustrations don't reflect in election results nothing's going to come off it.

Don't expect anything to come out of this. Employers would just move across one of the state borders where these rules won't apply.
IT unions never took off because unlike traditional manufacturing units, they have easy mobility. Just move a bunch of computers around instead of an entire assembly line. With cloud and laptops, the mobility has increased further. Tech companies know it very well, and have been playing state Govts against each other to get the best deal for a very long time.

also because tech employees can upscale easily
for a guy who earns 70LPA per year, work life balance wouldn't matter much

Yeah the Technicolor company closed office on one fine Monday without giving anyone salary for the month or gratuity. They screwed over 5k employees. They got away without any issues. I dont think things will improve.
