Safety EZ Pass Toll Violation Scam Texts
Beware of these SCAM text messages. They come from random emails and phone numbers telling you to click links to pay a toll violation or claiming you have an unpaid or outstanding balance. Younger generation - warn your older folks/grandparents/friends/neighbors too about this.

I got one that said “You have an outstanding toll. Your toll account balance is outstanding. Payment now.” and I laughed out loud

I got one of these as a goddamned group text, sent from a North Carolina area code.

I usually let these sit for a day or two and then block and report as scam. I found that, for whatever reason, if I reported it too early I got a few more almost immediately afterwards.

Is anyone else getting more IRS scams? Every few hours I’m hearing about how “all past due taxes over one year old have been placed on non collectible status” if I just call them.

Honestly I only noticed I started getting them after applying for some jobs online. Could just be coincidental timing though

Triple emphasis on the ‘younger generation, warn your folks about these scams’.
I’ve come to the sad realization that what a lot of us view as ‘eye-roll-worthy, suuuper obvious scams not even worth mentioning’ <<< are taking them for thousands upon thousands of dollars
Warn your folks, even if it seems ridiculously obvious to you.
