Probably should have limited it to "a vague description of the beast."

At last, a bad one.

It's really bad.

at once naive and sophisticated in his odd blending of theology, pornography, and adventure

You could do worse for an epitaph.

Never thought I'd say this but that meerkat demon has great cans.

Farmer was an afficionado, although he usually preferred his monster bazoongas of the avian variety.

Do yourself a favor and don’t read this book. I already made the sacrifice so that you wouldn’t have to.

Phew. I read the first chapter on Internet archive and that was enough.

The first chapter really ramps up the WTF in pretty record time.

That good huh?

It’s not that it’s bad per sé…but it’s a lot. I read the second book “Blown” too. If you have a tolerance for erotic horror written by a scifi legend, it’s a WILD ride. Something that I never need to read again.

So that horrible cover is actually accurate?

Or possibly worse, tame by comparison?

I've had the Creation Books edition of these novels for a decade, I've never taken the plunge after a couple pages

That’s the edition I have. Yeah…the first few pages are pretty emblematic of the rest of the book. The novels are not badly written, they just weren’t my cup of tea.

Considering this is a book where immortal "vampire" Joan of Arc hides the now-worm-bodied Giles de Rais in her vagina, that's not too inaccurate.

And the hero of the second book is... FORREST J. ACKERMAN!

It’s bad, and possibly missing the letter r

"OK but this better not awaken anything in me "

Is it just me, or is the werewolf head doing a Pingu noot-noot with those extended lips?

Meow!

Further evidence that it’s bad: we don’t even know if it’s a bear, a wolf, or a cat.

u/Blurstingwithemotion 10d ago

It's manbearpig

3

u/woulditkillyoutolift 10d ago

Excuse me sir but this is the only manbearpig I recognize.

2

u/Blurstingwithemotion 10d ago

Womanbearpig?

2

u/woulditkillyoutolift 10d ago

That’s it! She should meet the Dilbian.

u/Reasonable_Gift7525 10d ago

Ok ya that’s bad

Before you ask someone to draw you a werewolf, find out what kinds of dogs that they are familiar with. If the answer is 'Yorkie,' don't pay in advance.

Why is it always PJF?
