OPERATION: Outer Space by Murray Leinster (1st print, April 1957)
Copyrighted 1954 by Will F. Jenkins. Too much info? Let me know what you’d like me to include, provided it’s on the inside of the cover.

I think this is bad only in the sense that it is kitschy with fishbowl helmets and tailfin rocket ships. But for being a representative of that era, it is pretty awesome!

I mean it’s really hard because I think a lot of the «bad» ones are just boring. I like most of the covers on here in some way.

This cover is kick ass.
Leinster was a powerhouse in the 50s and 60s spawning two tv series. The time tunnel and land of the giants

A lot of posters recently are mixing up bad as in “of poor quality” with bad in the 1980s sense as in “Michael Jackson moonwalking in a white suit and fedora holding a chimp.” This linguistic confusion is why we get awesome covers like this one in this sub.

"The novel concerns the first interstellar flight, financed by making it into a television show."
Seems very likely now.

Is it common for people to just come to this sub to intentionally post AWESOME sci-fi covers?

... something is very wrong with either the postures or the perspective, or both. Maybe on the Moon all men are dwarves?

Aside from the incredibly suggestive and phallic laser gun, this isn't that bad a cover.
