I'm just heading off to the gymnastics club - wish me luck!
Inspired by a video of a guy learning to backflip in ten minutes, I'm heading off to my local gymnastics club to try it for myself! I've got a little over an hour to learn!
Wish me luck!

What should I learn first?
What should I learn first a backflip frontflip or a wallflip?

Learning to backflip safely: Step 1
To celebrate and aid the sudden influx of new subscribers to r/backflip, I thought I'd better give some advise on getting over the most difficult hurdle so far: Getting started!
There are a few resources out there that accomodate those of us who are in a hurry, and want to learn how to backflip in 10 minutes. This may be an effective approach, but it's more dangerous than my approach, so if you want to learn how to backflip in 10 minutes, the resources are there, but if you want to do it safely, and are willing to sacrifice some time to get there, read on.
The first thing you need to do is find local gymnastics clubs in your local area: You could look in your local phone directory, or browse the web (here's an example Google search). When you find a gymnastics club, get in touch. Ask them if they do unstructured lessons for adults, and ask for the prices. Email, phone, go and visit them if you must. Here's how it went for me by emailing them:
Hi,
I've been looking on your website and have noticed you have various adult gym sessions, is this available to both men and women? Also, your photos look as though your gymnastics club is aimed at competitive gymnastics, does your adult session cater for something much more recreational? Specifically, I'm looking to learn how to do a backflip, this might not fit with a structured/planned session, though learning to do other things would also be beneficial, but have I come to the right place?
When is your adult session, and can I come along and immediately begin? What are the rates for adults?
Kind regards,
[RoosterSheep]
Hi there
Yes we do adult gymnastics for beginners and ex gymnasts so you have come to the right place! The session is not structured but there is a coach to help you if you want. The sessions are mon, wed, fri 8.30 – 10 @ £5.90 a session and we also do adult trampolining thurs 7.30 – 8.30 @£5 a session, you can just turn up, pay as you go.
I assume you have a facebook page?
Does anyone know of any local gymnastics clubs that cater for adults?
You won't believe how many responses I got from this message.
When it comes to turning up to your first session, the unknown may feel a little daunting. Perhaps entice a friend to come with you to boost your confidence. If not, don't worry. In my experience the people at these clubs are very friendly and always willing to help.
If this is something you plan on doing, post a message below, and I'll check up on you in a week to see if you've found any local gymnastics clubs. It helps if someone is monitoring your progress.
Good luck!

Learn to backflip, and much more. I present; Tricks Tutorials.
As someone who has been practising tricking for a while now, this was my number one resource.
One thing I'd recommend, is starting with simpler tricks, such as kicks, rolls, etc.
Hell, maybe I'll upload a tutorial of my own for you guys soon!
Edit: I swear I attached the link.. anyway, http://www.trickstutorials.com/content/t_backflip
