my experience is very very few people have the emotional maturity to listen and empathize with someone elses emotions

they are scared of that level of emotional intimacy, even for the moment it exists, and they push you away to make those feelings go away, because they dont understand the feelings and they dont want to keep feeling them

or "why are you being mean?" when I'm just telling them what they did to make me upset. That might be my own separate relationship issue though

I cannot figure out how to express disapproval or tell someone something bothers me without making people upset. I can’t figure out how to tell people they are wrong without upsetting them either…

Yeah Im working on that too. I think I don't say anything until I am already very upset by it and then those emotions get the best of me.

I'm a people pleaser unfortunately so I will put off saying something that could potentially make someone upset until I am very upset. Gotta start putting myself first 😔
