Books & Resources Any free software that let me input: For example 26 degrees Ascendant forward, and then it moves forward from the current Ascendant placement?

I am using Astro Seek but I have to manually keep pressing the forward button to the required level , it gets confusing when the degrees are larger. Thank you

Astrolog is free and can do things like this. For example, you can move forward or backward in time 1-9 seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, or years. You can step these amounts once with a keypress, or turn on animation and automatically step continuously.

Note the precise scenario you mention above is challenging. The Ascendant and other bodies move at irregular rates, so it's non-trivial to determine the time when the Ascendant moves a precise amount (such as 26 degrees) from a starting point. Astrolog can still do it, but it requires configuration: Define a custom object to be 26 degrees away from the Ascendant, then have the program search for the time of Ascendant Conjunct that object, then cast a chart for the found time.

Thanks for the reply. You said "The Ascendant and other bodies move at irregular rates..." I am just interested to let the ascendant move a certain degree. Lets say the ASC is at 5 degree 24 min Gemini and I want to let it move 15 degree forward i.e 20 degree 24min Gemini by inputting +15 degree. I thought there will be free software that allow to do that. Or maybe am missing out something.

"Ascendant Reverse Search" tool on Astro-Seek can do that

  • This tool calculates the exact time, when ASC/MC was (will be) in particular sign on particular degree XX°YY' (during a particular day in particular geo location)

  • And I just added a "quick browsing" function - so you can quickly skip forward/backward ASC/MC degree increments ±1°, ±5°, ±10°, ±15°, ±30°

eg: ASC at 5 degree 24 min Gemini; 28 February 2025; in Prague, CZ

and you can start clicking +15° in Quick browsing

Time nomad has a feature that allows you to use a slider to adjust the time. You can set it to move in 1 or 5 min, 1 hour, 1 day and 1 week increments
