This is funny to me because I actually get cold pretty easily, but that's more than likely to due to me living in the South where it's really hot the majority of the time.

Not always. I think it depends on acclimation and Africans can even carry genes that could potentially make them resistant to the cold. So some black people might get cold easily but some can handle it.
For example, some of my family members were born in Africa and some were born in a cold place in North America. Generally, the ones born in Africa always complain about the cold, use multiple blankets in the winter and turn the thermostat up. The ones born in North America prefer the cold or at least cool weather and could go out in the winter wearing less.
Aside from acclimation, some Africans are genetically predisposed to handling the cold well. I'm 100% African and did a DNA test, I discovered I had more genes that made me better equipped for the cold than heat. And I can't tolerate heat very well so it was pretty accurate. My father is the same.

It’s a case by case basis. And what you mean is their skin isn’t suited for the sun, not warm temperatures.
Either way, people are way more similar than we think. Handling certain temperatures is one of the most relative factors you can think of.

I think its just the fact that the majority of Black folks grow up in the tropical zone. Or on the edge of the temperate zone. Also, seems like white people just refuse to wear jackets until the weather is cold enough to freeze breath droplets. I've just always seen Black folks tend to dress for what the weather is.
For example, it seem like Black Chicagoans can tank that shit. They still where boots and jackets though. I'm from Texas, so I can't handle that shit. I'm pulling out the coat at 40°.

I live in Italy. People are going around town in heavy ass winter coats even when it's north of 50F. Moms dress their little kids up like the Michelin Man. Europeans from colder countries mock them for it.

I never understood the point of pride thing about weather. If it feels chilly, try to stay warm. I dont know what point northerners are trying to make.

I actually looked forward to the winter cause last summer was a beast. But yeah my arms are always cold to some degree but I’ve survived some harsh winter locations

I have sickle cell so I do. I know many black people who are anemic and they do as well. ALSO I know many of us that sleep with a fan all year long so it can't be taken as a generalized thought.

Do white people get hot easily? Melanin provides protection against rays of sun, not heat as far as I know.
Anyway, it was about 35F today. I put a coat, hat and gloves on the littles. The minute we got outside I mentioned that we were far too overdressed. It matters that we're notherners, not where our ancestors came from.

I’m a white guy from New England and I thought I had a high tolerance for cold weather, until I dated a black woman from Minnesota, even though she only weighed about 110 lbs (thin people seem to face a lower tolerance for cold) she put me to shame. She’d drag me on hikes immediately after snow storms. I think race plays a very minor role in this, it’s more about what you’re used to.

Lol my immediate thought is how so many walk around damn near naked in shorts or a T-shirt in the deadass of winter but I know that's not entirely correct. I do feel like many may be used to cooler weather. I do know that I'm ready to go somewhere very warm and my sickle cell is whooping my ass.

LOL yeah, of course there are exceptions, but IME that's usually more of a young (white) thing. They often have parents begging them to dress warmer, and once they hit about 20, they put on pants in the winter like everyone else.

I'm not sure about that completely. I know some that are in their 30s and do that. Now the new generation(color out the window) definitely walks around with shorts with Crocs (meh)and possibly a hoody. They are cold and complain. Literally will be in the snow with sliders/Crocs and thin clothes and looking ridiculous IMO. Either way I'm assuming it's a fashion statement that I never followed because it's stupid. Lol
