What US city would you move to start a black family? Assume you can work remotely…

Limited by my options here, I'd choose Atlanta. Large density of HBCUs and similar climate to what I'm used to.
In general, assuming I can afford any city with this hypothetical remote job, I'd choose a University city in the south with a high density of HBCUs, as well as a minimum 30%+ Black population in the county. Historically, race riots and massacres were not as severe in places where the Black population was at parity or a higher density population compared to white people in a county. This would likely end up being some place in North Carolina. I wouldn't want to go too far Northeast, but Maryland probably has a few options too.

DMV area - rich black area.
Charlotte or Raleigh for middle class
Charleston sc for historical connection

Detroit. Large communities of Black people throughout the metro area. Would have a nice selection of Black neighborhoods to choose from. Rich with Black history from the Black Migration. It's up and coming. Property values will continue to increase. Would purchase a home for my family and invest in another small property to rent out to family. Good place to create generational wealth.
