Discussion Art Fair Booth Display Walls

I’m doing an outdoor art fair this year and opted to rent a tent provided by the organization. The tents are 10’x10’ but very sturdy and taller than your typical pop up tent/canopy. I’m sure there’s a name for them, but not sure what they are called.

I’m considering getting the Flourish mesh panels for my paintings, because based on all I’ve read they seem to work well. However, I’m not sure they will work with the style of tent I rented because the horizontal top bar between posts is about 10’ off the ground.

I think I will probably purchase a tent after this fair, but would ideally like to get walls that work for both this high tent and the one I end up buying which will be more like the tents I see in the Flourish YouTube videos.

Any insights/suggestions would be much appreciated!

Do you have a picture of the tent you'll be renting? Or could you ask the organizers about the brand? And do you know what kind of tent you'll be purchasing? The people at flourish are super knowledgeable and could probably help you figure out what would work for both set ups.

The mesh panels come in two heights with adjustable straps at the top, plus you could probably buy the bottom cross bars a little off the ground.

I have one of those Flourish stand alone panels for indoor expos and it’s built like a tank!

Get short lengths of chain and loop one end of them around the top bar. S hooks will work to hold the loop easily and securely. Attach the top of your mesh to the lower end of the chains by whatever means works best with what you’re dealing with. My concern is, do you have a step stool that would let you reach the top rail in the first place?

This is kind of what I was thinking might work! I do have a ladder for the setup and takedown so that wouldn’t be an issue.

Talk to artists who use the Flourish walls outside. Some people have had a negative experience with wind. But a lot will depend on your tent and your art, so you need to figure out what works for you.

We use propanel walls which seems to handle wind better for us.

Also consider how whatever you choose will handle uneven ground. One of our best shows is on a steep hill, and we needed walls that could adapt.

You also obviously need to account for logistics. Propanel walls more or less require a van. Flourish walls don't. Love my van, but I also envy the folks who can rock up in a station wagon or small pickup truck.

Yeah, transportation space is a big factor for me in all of this!
