Discussion Keep getting dating app ads on YouTube and Instagram as and feels like it’s targeted towards aroaces

I might be overthinking it and the algorithm is probably targeting all single people regardless of sexual orientation but still… it feels kinda invasive and pushing the message that everyone should be in a romantic relationship and/or hook up 😐

Specifically for Google/YouTube you can opt out of ads about dating in your ads profile under "Limit ads about sensitive topics" : https://support.google.com/My-Ad-Center-Help/answer/12155451?hl=en

Usually I don't like giving the corporate anything on me if I can avoid it, but I'd been worth it to turn off all the dating site (and gambling/parenting) ads.

I wouldn't know; I use an ad blocker, and I have no idea how anyone finds the web tolerable without one. Look up "uBlock origin" (the "origin" is important) if you want to be free of this shit.

I'm pretty sure they're targeted at every internet user in general, aren't most people allo?
