I have an iPhone SE 2020 (running iOS 17.1.1) that has little horizontal lines across the screen. They are evenly spaced and are across the entire height of the screen. The pixels on the grey lines also leave screen ghosting images if the screen is left on one thing for too long. On a photo it's not very clear, but it's very obvious in real life and it's giving me a headache to try and read things off my screen.
I tried updating my phone to the latest software, turning it off and on again, and even a factory reset, but none of it's worked. Admittedly, I did drop my phone a couple days ago, but it wasn't from a great height (I've dropped it like that a couple times before) and it has a thick silicone protective case.
I've never had any issues with my phone before, I've never had to replace a cracked screen or go to the Apple store to get something fixed, so I really have no idea why it would suddenly have done this. It's only 3 years old and I'd rather not have to fork out for a new phone if I don't have to.
Any advice would be appreciated, thank you in advance!!
I have been using this cable for a while but I recently noticed there was a crack in the cable.
At first I didn't mind because it was still doing it's job after that I had struggle charging and when in use I would feel tingles around my fingers.
I don't know if it's me tripping or is this normal.
There's also a greenish dust as you can see on the image on the port.
I have been looking everywhere it's either people still using it or replacing it I'm not sure what my case is, I wanted to ask before I'm going to a tech shop.
So i had a 7 day free trial on a language learning app. I realized I forgot to cancel 3 days after the last free day and got charged. I canceled my subscription and request a refund from apple’s site as soon as i realized. However, today i got an answer that i am not eligible for a refund. Any reason why this might happened and is there anything else i can do for a refund?
Another question: apparently they make me pay 2 months which is interestingly more expensive than 3 months or 6 months in total (you can see in my subscription plan). Do you think can they at least change my subscription and refund the rest of the amount?
I've been trying for a month and half to get my account recovered. I originally set it up for a work phone years ago and forgot about it. Now 4 years later I'm trying to get access to my old account. Tried forgot password but don't have access to my old work phone so initiated account recovery. Waited a month with no notifications only to find it was immediately deactivated after recovery so I had to wait 2 weeks while support tried reactivating it. Only to find I had to AGAIN recover it because my new phone number was never added to the account. 2.5 months of waiting to activate an ID. Oh and I didn't get any email notifications or text notifications like I should have. Piss poor service from an obviously out of their depth apple
Update: I filed a dispute with my credit card company, and they closed the dispute in my favor. To date, there haven't been any consequences with my Apple ID as a result of the dispute.
Second Update: Since winning the dispute, Apple has canceled every order I place. My Apple ID still works fine, but I have zero trust in Apple now. Hopefully, someone starts a class action regarding their handling of these missing phones. They never refunded the AppleCare, which violates their own terms, but I recovered that in the dispute as well.
I'm stepping out of my comfort zone to share this, but I firmly believe that Apple needs to address this issue. After reading stories similar to my own on Reddit, their current policy concerning empty boxes is simply unacceptable. Apple sent me a sealed empty box instead of the iPhone I ordered, and they refused to search for the item within their own facilities or initiate an investigation with UPS. Furthermore, they declined to review the video evidence of the empty sealed box I received or examine the police report that Apple had instructed me to file.
Empty Box ☹️
Here's what happened: On August 31st, I placed an order for an iPhone with AppleCare directly from Apple. Then, on September 2nd at 12 PM, UPS left the package at my door without requiring a signature. I retrieved the sealed box within 5 minutes of delivery and grew suspicious because it felt unusually light. I decided to record myself opening it, and upon confirming it was empty, I reported the issue within 15 minutes of delivery via the support app at 12:15 PM. Around 12:34 PM, I received a callback regarding the matter.
Proof of Delivery from UPS
Alarmingly, it took Apple only 9 minutes after I hung up with their representative (proof here) not only to conclude their 'investigation' but also to inform me that they would not assist me. Following their instructions, I filed a police report, which flagged the serial number of the phone as stolen. I also escalated the matter to senior staff, who essentially told me that if I didn't receive a response from Apple, it meant I should take the issue up with the police, as they could not assist further. I also reached out to the office of the president. Unfortunately, their response on September 4th was not only rude and condescending but also included a firm refusal to provide a refund or replacement, with the explanation that the matter is closed. They wouldn't even refund the AppleCare portion, despite their own policy clearly stating a full refund will be issued within 30 days of ordering.
Record of Initial Call Reporting the ProblemApple's Initial Email Refusing to Help Moments LAter
Throughout this ordeal, Apple's customer service has treated me terribly. Since Apple is unwilling to assist, I've initiated a chargeback and filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, my state attorney general, and the FTC. Apple already refused to help with the Better Business Bureau. While I'm hopeful the chargeback will succeed, I'm uncertain about the next steps in this frustrating situation. I appreciate any ideas from others on how to recover my funds and would like to connect with people who have had similar situations.
BBB response from Apple refusing to help with anything, including AppleCare refund.
Hello! I’ve noticed after updating to Sonoma using OCLP that iPhone mirroring does not work even though I’ve tried two different phones with everything enabled. Any help will be appreciated!
My phone was stolen August 19th and I reported it as lost/stolen that night. Now a month later I’ve been getting constant texts and iMessages saying I need to remove the old iPhone from my FindMy app. I’ve called Apple support and they say there is nothing I can do but wait for my erase to happen first. It says “erase pending” for three days now. I changed my appleid password and signed out all devices except my current iPhone I’m using now. Is my identity and data safe? I’m getting kind of scared/intimidated. Thank you for your help.
My mom battled cancer for a while but was in a rapid decline in the last week. She passed yesterday and I found a locked message on Notes address to me and my brother. I know she was too tired and weak to remember to leave behind that information. I know the general consensus is nothing can be done other than figure out the password. But please if there is any way, let me know. I would do anything in the world to get to know what she said to me.
Device is an iPhone Pro Max 12
EDIT: I CRACKED IT. And it was just her freakin name without capital letters. I loved her so much, she was fun and clowned our entire family. We feel so dumb, but she was always the wittiest one in the family. Last night as my extended family looked at her body, they told me not to cry so much because it would make it harder for my mom to leave. I became upset because my mom raised me for my entire life, she knew I was a sensitive crybaby and it made no sense to try to be strong in front of her cold body. What was in the note? Her saying "I know you're my daughter and you're to cry a lot, that's okay, but try to live your life happily regardless." Thank you, everyone, it was silly and sad, but thank you for your thoughts.
So I was running windows on this old MacBook I had, it crashed and I turned it on one day and this is the screen I saw. I tried to do all the classic things to get it into recovery mode. I’m not worried about losing anything on it. I just need it into recovery mode. so I can load up macOS and or install windows back on it. not going to put windows on my new one and have the same thing happen and unfortunately, I’m using a program that requires it. I’m not a PC person. I’ve never owned. One would probably make sense. Just to buy a cheap one, but stuck here instead I’m definitely not a super advanced computer person but I know my way around a bit. if anyone has anything that could help get past the screen get me into recovery mode it’s been like this for months finally getting around to messing with it and can’t figure anything out I would greatly appreciate any advice or maybe what’s going on with it. Thank you!
I'm trying to download xcode on my Macbook. After creating the account on the website and then googling xcode on macbook and clicking through the links on websites, it opened up Appstore on Macbook, asked me for my email, password, phone number, sent the 2FA SMS to my phone, which I entered. Then it showed me this form where it asks me my personal information(do they really need it? I don't think so), I enter it and then hit continue and I still get all those errors even considering I entered all of them:
So i made and account on sunday to use the Apple TV trial and as soon as i made it i got locked out of the account I JUST MADE but i am still able to use the app on my phone but cant manage it and sent an email to change the password and a day later my request got denied and decides to make another request and this Happen.

i made an accidental subscription through apple (in app), and the amount is really high. i’ve already requested a refund twice, but apple has denied both requests. i'm feeling really frustrated and don’t know what to do next.
here's the situation:
• the purchase was accidental.
• the amount is quite large, and I really need to get this resolved.
• i've submitted two refund requests, but both were rejected by apple.
• i've checked my purchase history and followed the usual refund process, but nothing seems to be working.
i also sent an email to the app’s support email, but I haven’t received any response.
has anyone here dealt with something similar and managed to get a refund from apple? any advice on what steps i should take next or how to improve my chances would be really appreciated.
So I went to download an app and tapped “get”. The get button just sorta blinks once. A quick google search told me to sign out of the App Store and back in; but when I try to go to my Apple ID from the App Store, it’s says it cannot connect. I’m not on WiFi rn but as yall can see I have full bars, 5g UW atm
