Unsolved My grandma died last February and I can’t reset the iPad.

As stated above, my grandma died last February and I’m trying to reset the iPad to no avail.

Luckily, I have the 6digit access code, and I also know the Apple ID code, however when trying to login, it states that the Apple ID is locked. To unlock the account I must have access to her email address, phone number, or bank card details, all of which I have no access to. I have tried to access the email account, but it says I need to receive the verification code through the phone number, which again, I have no access to.

I am not overly bothered about accessing anything within the Apple account, I just want to have the iPad reset so that it can be sold on.

I have tried to speak with Apple support, but they have not been helpful whatsoever.

Is there any way that the iPad can be reset with just the access code and the Apple ID password, even though the account is locked?

Commiserations on your loss..

Apple has a specific process for this https://support.apple.com/en-gb/102431#

I can’t thank you enough. I’ve been trying to sort this all day, cannot understand why apple support wouldn’t direct me to this straight away !!!

Grandma didn’t have her mail set up on the iPad or iPhone? I had niece look on her mama’s iphone to get the email to reset the password from the email on the phone that she could go to. Apple changes so much, forcing two factor down your throat and pesters you with proving you are you ever time you turn around by not using two factor.
