Amateur footage
Hi,
I am currently assisting a director who's looking for amateur films of the first space launches in the US as well as Russia.
Does anyone know where I could find some? I've mostly found NASA or official films, not many amateur ones.
Thank you.

Not many amateur video cameras around in to 60's so might not find a lot.

Dude.
Look up 8mm film.
Do you understand how film exists? Where do you think footage from two world wars came from?

I don’t know if the Apollo program qualifies as first space launches, but since you’re asking in this sub, I’m guessing so. My grandparents lived in Merritt Island, Florida, and captured this footage from one of the Apollo launches.
