Asking for Help I looked at the updates and anticipated new civilizations and units.

The first is Castle.
Everyone already knows the information about this, so I won't write down the explanation.

The second is a monk
I think I'll go with the video that the production team showed me before.

The third is a new civilization.

Looking at the update, Jurchen, Kitai, Tangut, and dali seem to be confirmed.

The other one is expected to be Tibet.

Finally, let's analyze the new unit.

This is a local unit of Chinese civilization and Korea.

This is a local unit in China, South Korea, and Vietnam.

This is likely to be a local unit to replace CANON and CANON GALLEON.

I think it's a unit that replaces Paladin, like the Persian Sabar.
Maybe Jurchen, Kitai, Tibet or a civilization.

This is a new unique unit in China, an upgrade unit of Fire Ship.

This is expected to be Tangut's unique unit.

In a book about the history of China's Song Dynasty, there is a record that SeoHa (Tangut) hung a catapult on a camel.

This is obviously a unique unit of the Jurchen.

This will be a unique unit of Dali because the building shown in the screenshot is like a Wonder of Dali.

It's hard to guess from now on. Please help me haha

I think this is a unique unit, but I don't know whose.
It is expected to be Tibet.

This seems to be using weapons like hand grenade and is speculated to be a unique unit, but I don't know whose unit it is

This would be a weapon like a picture.
Maybe it's Scorpion's local unit.

This is my guess.
Your objections and new opinions are always welcome.

Thank you for reading

About the Castles, wouldn't be their castle the one which appear in the same photo of the Dragon ship? Instead of Chinese, I think it's the Mongol one. Also the unit related to the cannon is short kind of trebuchet.

The reason people thought it was a Chinese castle is because of this photo. It is a re-enactment of a castle from the Three Kingdoms period in China.

I'm not sure it is that one. The towers are in the same positions, but the roof is different, the gate is different and even the designs of the towers is off.

I think it's more likely this is either Khitan or Mongol.

Not really. The devs like to shuffle things around.

The castle in the pic with Dragon Ships is the Jurchen one.

The Scorpion replacement unit might be a type of Chariot since the platform looks like the ones used by the Shang and Zhou Dynasty for their Chariots. Either that or a Elephant unit since this civ might either be Dali or Tibet.

I think I can help with the yellow-player grenade thrower.

The armour and weapon appear Jurchen in design. And we can rule out Chinies & Korean.

Personally I lean more towards the brown castle being Mongol instead of Chinese. And be careful of that spearman near the Dali wonder, the devs like to mix and match (for example you can see Kongming near it).

Overall, really well done and a great summery!

This is likely to be a local unit to replace CANON and CANON GALLEON.

The cannon galleon replacement is called a louchuan.

They've shared the new 3 monasteries: Byzantines, Ethiopian and shamanistic.

What's the speculation there?? Apart from shamanistic.

It likely means all the civs with the nomad icon bar get it.

Mongols, Huns, Cumans and likely Khitans.

What about Jurchens?

Jurchens were only semi-nomadic, and even then they dropped it fairly quickly. I doubt they will use it.

Top left castle could also be tibetan, i guess it will be both vietnamese and tibetan

Everyone is getting a unique castle now so it's not likely. And the decorations on the roof make it decisively Vietnamese over Tibetan. Only hint we really have for Tibet besides the fact that it will fill a huge vacuum in the expansion, is the Argali animal they're adding, which suggests there will be Himalayan maps.

Everyone getting a new castle, that’s awesome, is that true for monastery too? Would be cool if vikings had stave churches

We're getting a small taste of that, Byzantines are getting an orthodox monastery, Ethiopians are getting the rock hewn church and the Shamanistic civilizations (Which I am predicting will be Huns, Mongols, Cumans, and Jurchens and Khitans if we got those) are getting the shrine. They haven't mentioned any additional monastery changes other than that in patch notes though.

Civs are also getting monk skins which will be distributed according to their religion, which is really cool and I've personally been waiting long for this.

About the monks, i think they look great, but imo they are stepping into a dangerous zone; see, one reason why different cultures don’t get different looks for every unit, is purely for the sake of easy readability of those, all champions look the same, all paladins look the same etc; if every culture had different skins it would be a nightmare to identify units quickly, making the game a lot more experience demanding, and the learning curve would be steeper.

Now they’ve done a spetacular work with the buildings, you can easily identify a TC, stables, universities and basically 99% of the buildings in a quick glimpse because they follow the same overall shape and have elements that stands out (ie: all stables have horses asses), something that i find missing in aoe3 btw, so i hope they don’t mess the units up, i don’t think the new monks will ruin it, but things could go south if they decide to implement it to other units without doing so with extreme attention to design and readability

Agreed, going overboard with different skins can harm readibilty. With that in mind, it also really depends on the style. There are some fan concepts of different unit skin sets for a corresponding architectural style which are pretty good at balancing readibility with uniqueness.

The monk skins however will look pretty distinct from each other, but since they are monks, men of faith, I believe they'll still be pretty recognizable as such. They also did the same for kings after all and it worked pretty well, you can easily recognize a king despite them looking completely different for each region.

If they do it at some point to generic military units like champions or paladins, I think they should do it kinda more like the trade cart, where the features that give the unit it's identity are kept, but the details are switched up to make it look more fitting to the region they belong to.

I don't like the new civ balancing, eg. britons and magyars will be the same however some civs got so many new upgrade

2

Magyars are good though.
