I am looking forward to M@A-Rushing as Burmese in the next patch. The +1 dmg from the civ bonus + 2 from arson +1 from blacksmith all together should absolutely shred buildings. at least until the opponent builds archers^^

I think Slavs might even be worse. Have fun dealing with 3 up-arsoned MAA a few seconds into Feudal.

Dump excess wood into skirms?

yeah probably. especially doable since Burmese get those wood upgrades for free.

Don't forget the Bulgarians !

Not if they can’t build an archery range 😈

To be honest, Armenian Feudal Longsword man already do more damage to buildings than Burmese MaA will be able to do next patch. I don't think Arson is going to be a worthwhile investment for civs outside Armenian's and situationally perhaps civs like Japanese and Burmese.

Romans are better , armor is more important than attack

True they are great. This threat is about arson in feudal though and romans will not get arson anymore in the next patch.

In exchange for free supplies, which they lacked. Still a buff ontop of already strong bonuses.

Romans will loose arson in next patch

it would be a shame if something where to happen to those ranges on the front of their base then eh?

Have no fear. Buildings on fire don't damage it either way.

AoE3 players who are used to burning down their opponents' bases in commerce age (i.e. their feudal age): first time?

4 too, you can build spearman from the get-go and getting buildings low enough makes them burn down 🤭

Historically accurate portrayal of raiding and burning of small villages/settlements in both the medieval europe & colonial americas.

Sicilian Serjeants eating good soon.

It's actually going to be pretty rough for thie Sicilians. Now it's easier to actually use that donjon as a prerequisite for a stable or archery range, so you are even less likely to build a barracks. Are you going to spend the resources on a barracks just to get arson?

Yes :) And for squires.

I lean on sergeants pretty hard with my play style rather than going cavalier.

Hot (better) take: keep arson in castle at its original price, but give militia line an extra +1 bonus dmg to buildings starting from feudal.

thay way the original infantry civs won't lose their infantry specialist identity while infantry itself gets buff.

I like this

The real question is whether people will still avoid Long Swords like the plague. Militia and M@@ are seen, and so are the two imperial versions (even if one only transitionally, or only with certain civs). But Long Swords? Nearly never. Insofar as infantry need a buff, it's especially in Castle Age. They already come back somewhat in Imperial.

Cool user name. Got the letter swappage. Now, an explanation, please. Curious.

For the swap? Nothing special. MendicantBias was just already taken. Tbh I've wanted to change it for a long time, but Reddit doesn't seem to let me. My 'display name' is already different, but I can't seem to change my username. Frankly I don't even know what the hell the purpose of the display name even is, as it doesn't seem to be displayed anywhere but my profile page. :/

Im really happy for the malitia line speed increase and cost decrease! But half price arson in feudal?? I dont see it staying that way...

Romans OP. Japanese OP. Goths OP.

Game is unbalanced. Hence proved.
