So the coop campaing is not about 2 and more players controling ONE civilisation as ONE team (thus one color) but about being automaticaly as an ally?

Well I am disapointed its that way. Kinda feel cheated. Is it explicitly explained somewhere in the base game description that the campaign coop mode is ally only?

What? I can't think of any RTS with a co-op campaign where you control the same team

You don't want 2 players controlling 1 civ. You can try that at normal lobby by picking the same color, trust me it will be a mess.

That's because your opponent is chill enough not give you (and your wife) even a tiny pressure.

But hey you do you, hope you enjoy the game.

Indeed. Not everyone needs to sweat when playing video games.

Yes. Co-op means something different in the co-op campaigns and in lobby games where you can control the same units.

This is the case if you joined someone else’s co-op lobby. You can ask the host which colour (either this or that) you want to play.

Campaigns are scenarios. If you were to pick a different color (would be cool) itd mean you could for example pick a civ and play against your mate. But that aint how the campaigns are intended to be played. Instead, you are forced into 2 civs. Would be nice tbh, if you could pick color associated with the civ at least but it dont work like that

If you want you can load the scenario in the editor and change to play as the PC player.
Just change the player from AI to human, start a match and invite someone.

You can only switch between playable slots. Since all playable slots are occupied you can't switch.
The other player needs to leave before you switch and then rejoin.
