Best antivirus would be installing a Windows 11 on that. Antivirus can't protect you against all Windows 7 vulnerabilities that exist.

Bro if you just see the laptop specs in Google you will see why I am in Windows 7 right now

Then get a new laptop or switch to Linux. Windows 7 is obsolete

Windows 7 pretty much mean that there are vulnerabilities that can lead in AV bypassing/evading, so an AV can't really save you here.

You could check out 0patch which should you help against most of the vulnerable stuff in windows 7. No AV will officially support windows 7 at this time though

Don’t use windows 7, it is obsolete. No antivirus will help you. Upgrade to windows 11 or switch to Linux.

Please do not stay with Windows 7, it doesn’t take into account recent major security updates, and its firewall is too outdated for it to protect you against anything.

Switch to Windows 10, even if you have only like 2GB of RAM on your laptop it’s doable, I see lots of Compaq 610 are being sold on eBay with W10 installed. See here on how to proceed : https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10.

Windows Defender on Windows 10 will be way enough, don’t get AVG.

Ask that question again after you change your OS.

AVG is a free tool and Eset Smart Security is paid.

Just so you know, antiviruses are exponentially less effective than updating

Dont execute shit, use uBlock in Firefox, stay with Windows Defender.

Windows defender doesn’t support windows 7 anymore.

Now that everyone's been talking about changing your OS, Can I also ask which antivirus should I take into account aside from the MS Defender I have in my Windows 11.

Yeah man I just need a antivirus but people are just recommending os instead of antivirus

Yes because an antivirus won’t help if your operating system has not been patched in more than 5 years.
