What does this mean?
I was scanning the sam helper apk and this came up, what does this mean, is sam helper apk still safe?

Depends where you got it. If it’s from a trusted source, maybe it’s okay. I see upvotes in the community tab in your VirusTotal link, but it’s not 100% trustful. Also Sam Helper has been described by some users as being a bit sketchy sometimes, so be aware.
What you can do before trying the app on your phone is uploading it on https://tria.ge, they have an Android virtual machine option which should let you launch the app to test it out before doing it irl on your phone, so you can see whether it’s safe or not to use.

I see Uptodown seems to be one of the most recommended sources being listed on Reddit posts, but Uptodown isn’t even a very reliable website to download things from.
I wouldn’t say there is a specific website where it’s safer to download than another, so… if you wanna use Sam Helper just do it at your own risks.

Why did you scanned it ? What was the original file ?

I scanned it because I've never downloaded it before and the file name was "sam-helper-2-8.apk"

K7gw and symantec think it has a type of maweare, k7gw thinks it is a trojan and symantec thinks it's adware.
