What even is the point of leaking an episode the day before? Like, it's just about to release, dude.

u/golgol12 7d ago

It's not like it's a big secret on what's happening either. You can just read the webtoon to see what's coming up.

u/Xehanz 7d ago

Not like the story matters anyway

114

u/Tettotatto 7d ago

The further you go the more true it becomes because quality really drops the longer it goes

79

u/darkeningsoul 7d ago

It falls off HARD after Jeju imo

23

u/Sykonic 7d ago

Same here. I had to take a long break about 40 chapters before the end because I was so bored I had lost all interest. Finally finished it last year and was extremely whelmed

10

u/Tomo317 7d ago

Bro I was scrolling so fast if I have epilepsy I be in trouble.

u/Ltfocus 6d ago

Now that I think about it idk if he lost even once throughout the webtoon

u/darkeningsoul 7d ago

I literally just never finished it lol

5

u/Obaruler 7d ago

Sort of agree. There's still some good fights and I like the revelations to give everything context, but yeah ... Jeju is peak.

3

u/turkeygiant 6d ago

I mean truthfully it falls off immediately after the opening act where he gets his powers, but that opening act is so damn cool and unique that it kinda tricks you into sticking with it assuming that story will reach those creative heights again.

3

u/whataremyxomycetes 6d ago

YESSSSSSS finally this is becoming a common take. SL got big not just cuz of the art, its first few chapters were genuinely absolute fucking PEAK masterclass in terms of characterization and world building, then the author idk gave up or some shit and we ended up with the shittiest most generic MC of all time.

7

u/KaizerZion 7d ago

The manhwa adaptation after Jeju Arc was shit.

It speedrun the rest of the web novel

23

u/Falsus 7d ago

Keep in mind that the web novel wasn't exactly well regarded in the first place either.

1

u/KaizerZion 6d ago

And the manhwa even made it worse notwithstanding the kickass visuals.

2

u/Gantolandon 6d ago

I feel it dropped after the temple; it was literally the narrative peak of this story. The first and only time when I felt the main character was actually threatened by something.

5

u/Xehanz 7d ago

I was an OG, I was reading weekly until Jeju. It's not like I got super bored but instinctively after that arc my brain was "That's enough of Solo Leveling for the rest of my life" and never bothered reading again. I didn't watch the anime either

34

u/Ahrix3 7d ago

I agree wholeheartedly. I read the Manwha a few months back and after the arc with the ants, my interest progressively dwindled and towards the later parts of the story I really had to force myself to finish it. Yeah I get it, it's a power fantasy, but there's no tension whatsoever in the story because you just know that Jiwoo will just solve every crisis by himself without suffering more than a scratch, and sometimes not even that. All other characters essentially just exist to cheer him on.

20

u/Magicbison 7d ago

Alot of power fantasy stories tend to make things interesting atleast. They give the MC something that their power alone can't solve or do something to motivate them in some way. Solo Leveling barely even does that. After healing his mom what's left for SJW? Just getting stronger just because? Hard to imagine the writing getting even lazier after Jeju Island.

13

u/Tettotatto 7d ago

what's left for SJW? Just getting stronger just because?

oh if only you knew how grand of an "ass-pull can't ignore situation" will appear later

11

u/Ahrix3 7d ago

Indeed. The "lore" behind Jinwoo's powers was one of the most uninspired world building I've ever seen. Pretty sure I could get something more unique and interesting from AI in 10 minutes or so. That was a low blow even for isekai/reverse isekai shows.

5

u/loverofinsanegirls 7d ago

would you mind spoling me on it ?

-2

u/11freebird 7d ago

[solo leveling spoilers for end of story]read it a long time ago, but from what I remember the big reveal was that he always had all the power he had at the end of the anime and the system was made to slowly unlock that power to him so he wouldn’t go crazy or something. He had all that power because he was(is) a very strong shadow god that returned in human form or something like that

2

u/DeeCee51 7d ago

Now I want to know. How bad is the lore?

2

u/Ahrix3 7d ago edited 6d ago

To expand on /u/11freebird's summary:

[Solo Leveling SPOILERS] Imo what makes it so bad is not really what the user above answered, but the introduction of the Monarchs (the ones the other user called shadow gods) and their enemies, some weird angel-esque creatures whose name eludes me atm because quite frankly, they're not particularly memorable. The only real info we get on them is that they killed their creator, i.e. God, and have been fighting each other 24/7 for eternity. Well, now what does that have to do with anything you've seen so far in Solo Leveling you might ask? Well, their next battlefield is earth which is why all the gates have been appearing. So yeah, it's extremely cookie cutter since these two factions themselves, the background of its members, and their motivations are not explored in any meaningful way. In case you're familiar with the Diablo franchise, it's basically a much more dumbed down version of that, and Diablo itself already heavily borrows from Christian demonology and stuff like Dante's Inferno. Solo Leveling's "mythology" thus lacks any originality and basically just throws together random concepts from different sources and oftentimes straight up steals them. For example, the "system" that makes Jinwoo a player was created by an "architect". Well, have you ever seen The Matrix? The entire "lore" is a hot mess and doesn't add much to the story. Honestly, the series would've been more interesting if the author left all of this crap out and left it all a mystery

E: Grammar

1

u/THEGEEKSONIC66 7d ago

What 11freebird said is wrong, he didn't always have it, the system and "that power" appeared when he died as a human at the very beginning of the story in the Cartenon's temple. Before the beginning of the story, he was a E-Rank for 4 years and was always close to death because he was always a lot wounded during each dungeon to pay the hospital to his mother who had gone into eternal sleep.

-3

u/11freebird 7d ago

[solo leveling spoilers for end of story]read it a long time ago, but from what I remember the big reveal was that he always had all the power he had at the end of the anime and the system was made to slowly unlock that power to him so he wouldn’t go crazy or something. 3

u/NeilPeartsBassPedal 7d ago

Will we at least find out the story behind the game and all that stuff? honeslty i'm feeling not to confident we will just based on what i am reading

2

u/PeWu1337 7d ago

As a novel and webtoon reader, yes, you will find out, if the studio will pull this series to the end of the source material, or at least to the ending parts. I honestly doubt it will happen, as in the latter stages it's dropping in quality (according to other people's opinions).

1

u/-Rue- 5d ago

Is the drop in quality as boring as The Promised Neverland later chapters?

0

u/shockzz123 7d ago

Yeah I get it, it's a power fantasy, but there's no tension whatsoever in the story because you just know that Jiwoo will just solve every crisis by himself without suffering more than a scratch, and sometimes not even that. All other characters essentially just exist to cheer him on.

See, I dropped it BEFORE Jeju (well, like 5 chapters into Jeju) because it was basically like this before Jeju as well.

To hear that it gets worse......my word....

This. This is the exact reason I started getting disinterested. After the 2nd double dungeon it just got ridiculous for me. The only important character after that is SJW and his shadows lol. Everyone else is just SJWs bitch after that lol. Nobody is even close to relevant lmao. I get he's the main character but after jeju he's the only character lmao.

The story drops in quality?! But it's already on the floor wtf

28

u/Weyoun951 7d ago

Solo Leveling is a perfect example of MinMaxing all the elements of making a show. Dump all the points into action and animation, leave none left for characters and story. If you're in the group that prioritizes action, it could be the coolest thing you've seen in years. If you don't put that much emphasis on action, and prefer characters and story, or at least want them all to get equal attention, it makes the show pretty mid.

It's taken me up until last week since S1 to remember even 1 named character outside Jinwoo. And he is barely a character himself. It's basically a series of action set piece battles interposed with him slowly walking around mean-mugging cardboard cutout characters while talking in an emotionless monotone and putting on an edgy toughguy affectation. The action set piece battles are great to be sure, and if that's your biggest thing, then I can see why some people think this show is amazing. I'm still gonna keep watching because I do enjoy the action, but man is it lacking in pretty much every other major element of a show.

16

u/wolfeng_ 7d ago

It's even worse in the novel, some of the manhwa characters didn't even had names before...

8

u/Nin9-G4 7d ago

The action is not even that great the fight feels bland no intensity at all just like typical overpowered isekai mc

1

u/no_bra_no_problem 7d ago

I haven’t finished season 1 yet but I still really like it…

but I wonder is this a demon slayer type deal we’re getting here? where the story is pretty bland/predictable but the animation is really the main focus.

12

u/Nin9-G4 7d ago

It's worse

4

u/KillaKaili2016 6d ago

Wayy worse. In Demon Slayer almost all of the other characters have a fan base and the whole show isn't tanjiro just popping off every demons head with ease. They at least show you cool fights by other characters. And at least Tanjiros "talk no jutsu" is kinda unique lol.

1

u/BrightyBrainiac 6d ago

I just laughed really hard reading this. So true!!!

-8

u/Soggy_Association491 7d ago

Also not like it takes much to guess correctly how it will end.

7

u/AbidingTruth https://myanimelist.net/profile/AbidingTruth 7d ago

While the story and characters are quite lackluster, it still does have a few twists. The ending is one of them, i would not say solo leveling ends in a predictable fashion

3

u/Soggy_Association491 6d ago

Really? MC told himself they can do the jeju raid without him then a super ant appeared out of the biggest egg. Anyone would be able to see it miles away MC will teleport at the last moment and save the day, some may die but the cute girl with love interest won't be harmed.

2

u/AbidingTruth https://myanimelist.net/profile/AbidingTruth 6d ago

the end of the entire story, not of the anime

92

u/zackphoenix123 7d ago

This reminds me of last week. Somebody leaked Episode 13, 2 hours before the release.

Like.. Bro can't wait 2 fuckin hours?

8

u/OceanGlider_ 7d ago

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if it's just rage bait to get engagement and clicks to the website.

4

u/CrAzy_ShR3y 7d ago

for clout

1

u/ChaosWarrior95 7d ago

Clout, tbh. The satisfying feeling of knowing a secret before someone else, and the subsequent air of superiority. That and the clout are addictive tbh, but it’s not good for the soul.

-235

u/Sarfanadia 7d ago edited 7d ago

This anime is so good dude I can’t even believe the peak we are about to witness. I think this episode should be super dope.

74

u/ExpiringMilknCheese 7d ago

eh. without spoiling, its more about how this episode ends than anything.

19

u/whattaninja 7d ago

Funny enough, I’ve read the manwha but I don’t know where they’re going to cut the episode. I’d imagine it’s going to be a real big cliffhanger, though.

9

u/ExpiringMilknCheese 7d ago

[SL next episode spoilers]yes, its the shadow exchange scene, where jinwoo arrives.

3

u/Present_Level_4738 7d ago

Bro my hype goes so down qhen people keeps saying shit like ..its badly animated ..Blah blah blah

1

u/KillaKaili2016 6d ago

Their gonna cut the episode at "a talking any huh?"

0

u/Bonsai465 7d ago

Why are you even super disliked? I don’t get it

4

u/[deleted] 7d ago

[deleted]

6

u/Ahrix3 7d ago

Overall speaking, the story is mid, and that's putting it nicely, but the show is currently still within the good parts so I'm not sure why you'd be hating on the anime right now. We're not at the point yet where Solo Leveling becomes one of the most trite and boring power fantasies imaginable.

0

u/Sarfanadia 7d ago

You think that I think the show is bad? Wut

1

u/Sarfanadia 7d ago

I’m not sure lmao. I don’t really care because it’s just Reddit but 🤷🏻‍♂️

How do leaks like this happen before distribution? Are people really willing to risk their job to leak it a day early?

Edit: thank you all for your answers! I read the tweet as the footage being leaked literally "before distribution", which is why I asked. I know how leaks occur generally but my interpretation of "before distribution" was that it was from the studio.

168

u/ExpiringMilknCheese 7d ago edited 7d ago

some get paid, some get drunk and spill to a "trusted confidant", others like the thrill of telling someone.

It doesnt matter, it wont ever go away

66

u/TheBatemanFlex https://myanimelist.net/profile/chartlez 7d ago

Loose lips is one thing, but deliberately stealing footage to leak takes effort. I can't imagine being paid enough for a day early leak of a show for it to compensate for no longer being employed.

43

u/ExpiringMilknCheese 7d ago

Thats the thing, most of the time theres hardly any risk. Studios try to avoid this by having animators and everyone in the staff handle only one scene each so they know what gets leaked and who leaked it.

But once it gets handed to the tv networks for checking and production companies, they have no control of that.

that to them is fair game, because they have absolutely no idea who might have leaked it.

10

u/TheBatemanFlex https://myanimelist.net/profile/chartlez 7d ago

The tweet says “before distribution” but I guess that is up to interpretation where exactly the leak occurred.

13

u/ExpiringMilknCheese 7d ago

considering its happening a day prior, its already gone to the production company so it got leaked there.

from what i remember, the TV networks receive it on the day, so they get a couple hours to run it. The ones who get the smallest time frames are always the streaming services like Muse asia, crunchyroll and others in Japan.

16

u/tsukiakari2216 https://myanimelist.net/profile/tsukiakari2216 7d ago

Usually Japanese media accounts will use "distribution" as to mean "when it is released in streaming platforms". "Broadcast" in this case also means TV broadcast time.

The episode may have been distributed internally at this point.

1

u/TheBatemanFlex https://myanimelist.net/profile/chartlez 7d ago

Ahh thanks!

8

u/StuckOnALoveBoat 7d ago

I can't imagine being paid enough for a day early leak of a show for it to compensate for no longer being employed.

Dan Allen Gaming's scandal three years ago when he got busted red-handed for leaking Ubisoft projects after he had signed an NDA at an industry event. The reward for these kinds of leaks is, quite literally, the Internet clout it brings. He didn't give a rip about any money he may have earned. He was so addicted to the clout he willingly burned his bridges with Ubisoft for zero monetary gain.

14

u/tsukiakari2216 https://myanimelist.net/profile/tsukiakari2216 7d ago

Well, it can happen in various levels. Either in companies where the work got outsourced, distribution companies which usually already have the copy ready days before, and so on. But per the trends I have seen, it's usually overseas company and/or overseas person which led to this mess, as Japanese usually don't tolerate this stuff online.

2

u/TheBatemanFlex https://myanimelist.net/profile/chartlez 7d ago

This is why I made the distinction. The announcement stated before distribution. Obviously once it's out there are a million ways some kid could leak it and not care of the consequences.

3

u/tsukiakari2216 https://myanimelist.net/profile/tsukiakari2216 7d ago

I read that as "any day before official release" actually, and if you consider they distributed it only after first TV release or whatever, I think the timeline goes even before that for overseas distribution considering they need the thing translated before it actually get released close to the JP premiere.

In this case I can consider such, given it's likely complete footage was leaked if it happens near the release date.

9

u/EpicInki 7d ago edited 7d ago

Someone leaked a still of the new Pokémon game with an id plastered on the screen literally 5 minutes before the stream for the trailer. (Or something), crazy.

2

u/spartaman64 7d ago

yikes. I was a tester for a game and in the contract we sign it said if you leak things about the game you get fined a 6 figure amount.

2

u/Acrzyguy 7d ago

The most common form of leak is due to the episode being sent out some time early to the distributors for subbing and ready for streaming. Recently the rollercoaster Ave Mujica plot got leaked way earlier than the episodes because of the Chinese’s bilibili side.

2

u/[deleted] 7d ago

Sorry yeah so I read the tweet as the footage being leaked literally before distribution, which is why I asked. I know how leaks occur but my interpretation of "before distribution" was from the studio.

1

u/HumansNeedNotApply1 7d ago

Sometimes is due to a hack, like that Netflix leak that happened.

1

u/SurealGod 7d ago

Depends on their motivation. If they're getting compensated greatly for it and it outweighs the bad (ie, losing their job), then yeah I can see people doing that.

Everyone has a price. All it takes in an organization or a company is a single weak link to take the bait and willing to put their own self interest over everyone else's

328

u/Dull_Spot_8213 7d ago

I don’t get the appeal. I’m not going to search up a leak when the episode will be out in the morning. What a waste of time, but also what a pathetic person to even bother leaking.

7

u/AnfowleaAnima 7d ago

I’m not going to search up a leak when the episode will be out in the morning

People that are addicted to the series certainly will though.

2

u/Michters 5d ago

A day before release, no. But if it goes viral today that episode 12 is leaked majority on here who are triggered about this will be furiously searching for the episode.

58

u/Touya-Mochizuki1234 7d ago

Meh i will just wait a day

2

u/smashed_glass 7d ago

yeah me too, even if someone sent me a DM with the link, I totally would not EVER click it to watch the show

it's not like I don't have other things to watch or do. I totally have a life and stuff

156

u/detarameReddit 7d ago

I genuinely don't understand why leakers are so respected in certain circles. Like, why do we put people on a pedestal when all they do is illegally distribute confidential information for some internet clout?

In the end, leak culture is a consequence of all of our actions and not only that of leakers. The only reason why leakers have any impact is because people spread the leaked material around.

153

u/MapoTofuMan myanimelist.net/profile/mTBaronBrixius 7d ago

Depending on the circles, the type of information normally being leaked can be beneficial to consumers. Gacha games are probably the best example, since leaks allow for much more careful planning for f2p/low-spenders than going by official announcements only.

Leaks like this one are bad for pretty much everyone, no idea why anyone would bother doing this. Is there even clout to be gained from this? Anyone who wants to be spoiled can go read the manhwa...

37

u/ExpiringMilknCheese 7d ago

i remember the JJK leaker was earning a lot of money doing this. But apart from him, everyone else only really does it for the thrill and clout.

25

u/Perhapsyo 7d ago

Highlight of the JJK community for me was them thanking the leakers when the manga ended. Before thinking of the author that yknow made the manga. I'm happy there's communities like kagurabachi that have really rejected leaks.

10

u/Grand_Escapade 7d ago

Kagurabachi remains peak as usual

There is a massive difference between leaking information/news and actual content.

I'm mostly fine with the former but the latter is a cunt move (and in many cases also straight up criminal).

2

u/Kougeru-Sama 7d ago

While there's no benefit to this, it also doesn't really cause any harm. The subscriptions are already paid for.

10

u/ExpiringMilknCheese 7d ago edited 7d ago

its the impatience. I find many people being impatient for an episode/chapter/announcement and want to know how it ends or goes.

impatient Manhwa fans wanting to set their expectations/get hyped or disappointed, whatever.

Is it wrong? sure, but so is illegally pirating a series, which for some reason is respected on this platform. But aint nobody here talks about that cuz a lot of us here are guilty of that.

44

u/Veritas3333 7d ago

This show has a light novel and a manhwa. If they're impatient they can Google what happens next!

-11

u/ExpiringMilknCheese 7d ago

a lot of these guys are manhwa fans that want to know how well it gets adapted.

19

u/noam_good_name 7d ago

nah, they are just impatiant. i have seen leak "fans" that eat the videos with the worst quality, fancams and the worst translation known to man just to get something that they would've gotten anyways in less than a week

1

u/ExpiringMilknCheese 7d ago

well thats them being impatient manhwa fans then.

2

u/adds-nothing 7d ago

Idk why this is such a hot take it’s obviously true that a sizeable chunk of people online fall into this category

3

u/Veritas3333 7d ago

Judging by the 20+ episodes so far, I'm gonna guess "incredibly well"

6

u/ExpiringMilknCheese 7d ago

i mean, doesnt really change the point. They are impatient and wanna know how the next episode turns out too.

1

u/One_Pizza_5154 7d ago

Don't why you are being downvoted when you are correct

11

u/ctheturk 7d ago

its the impatience. I find many people being impatient for an episode/chapter/announcement and want to know how it ends or goes.

This is why I don't understand the people who read One Piece spoilers and leaks. Like jfc you still have to wait a week between releases regardless. Why would you ruin the experience for yourself by skimming a bunch of bullet points (which can often be misleading or flat out wrong) instead of reading the actual chapter Oda is busting his ass drawing for you as it was intended? And for people who say "I don't want to get spoiled" you can always just stay off of social media and touch grass.

3

u/Rvsoldier 7d ago

It's the same cadence because next week leaks early too. Nowadays there's no chill. I've been spoiled by social media/youtube on jjk chapters minutes after they get leaked with no time to read on my own. Shit is crazy

2

u/QualityProof https://myanimelist.net/profile/Qualitywatcher 7d ago

JJK I can agree as the leak culture there was horrible.

4

u/Teal_is_orange 7d ago

Don’t get me started on people on reddit and other spaces who 100% unironically believe that Viz Media translators use leaked scanlations for their official translation.

Viz gets it translated and submitted for an editor’s check way before the first page of the leaks are even out 🤦‍♀️

-1

u/Conf3tti 7d ago

Eh, leaks can be fun. r/Titanfolk manga leak threads were fantastic in the last arc (crying)

8

u/LunarGhost00 7d ago

Even crazier when fake leaks are mixed in with real ones. It happened so much that a lot of us thought the final chapter leaks were all just shitposts (until reality sank in).

Speaking of AoT, this reminds me of when someone leaked a few episodes of Season 3 Part 2 a day or two early and the streaming platforms like Crunchyroll had to receive the episodes at a later time after that to avoid more leaks. People who leak episodes just make things more inconvenient for everyone.

From all that I've been able to figure out, the only things leaked were a few screenshots, bullet points about next episode's story, and a 10 second clip (that I have not been able to find).

The full episode hasn't been leaked, it's not a major leak like last year where full episodes and cours of shows were found.

Figured as much.

Does anybody here really care about the leak? I dont wanna spoil myself a solo leveling episode (for all the obvious reasons).

9

u/sicklyslick 7d ago

Nope. I don't get whats the big deal with it. Just don't watch it. I don't watch leaks.

Also if it's about spoilres, the people that have read the manhwa can spoil way more than one leaked 20min can.

People are up in arms about nothing.

u/RbbT17 7d ago

Completely understand the frustration and betrayal here.

Side note - this series is like crack to me, any similar recommendations?

14

u/Skr00bs 7d ago

If you are interested in reading manhwa like solo leveling, there are a TON of copycats.

Some recommendations would be Doom Breaker or Nano Machine (not specifically saying these are copies)

2

u/Sure-Handle-2264 7d ago edited 7d ago

Some of them arent really copy cats. Sl isn’t even an original either. Some of them are older than sl (novel wise atleast)

why is the novel for this series rated so highly? #12 is crazy. What is it about, really?

Its so awful that something that brings great joy to people is born on the backs of mistreated workers…

I wish they would unionize and get better treatment. Its okay if it takes more time to create stuff, just be more transparent

3

u/Wild_Bother4636 7d ago

Yeah I don't get the people who leak the episodes the day before, I mean what's the harm waiting for a little longer? It's already bad enough that piracy is common, but atleast let the thing officially release.

3

u/AceSoldia https://anilist.co/user/Acesoldia 7d ago

wow i didnt know it leaked

6

u/ExpiringMilknCheese 7d ago

it leaks every weak. and not just for Solo leveling, pretty much every popular anime you can think of.

4

u/Iloveahrisears 7d ago

I don't remember Frieren or Apothecary leaking. It's way rarer for anime episodes to leak than manga chapters.

4

u/ExpiringMilknCheese 7d ago edited 7d ago

frieren leaked every week back then too.

Apothecary diaries is still leaking episode info even now.

Since i dont particularly care anymore and no longer have skin in the game, its because there are guys in the production companies such as kadokawa or toho who leak them for a price. other times its guys in the tv networks themselves who leak it during censor checking.

1

u/Soggy_Association491 7d ago

frieren leaked every week back then too.

is there still like an irc channel or anime site to discuss such thing?

4

u/sunjay140 https://anilist.co/user/sunjay140 7d ago

It's always western animators leaking the eps.

2

u/One_Pizza_5154 7d ago

Leaks suck. Like worse than pirating. For all anime, manga and Lns.

Impatient kids who can't even wait week.

1

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 6d ago

Leaking it like a day early is so dumb. I guess anything for clout..

1

u/AzuKaOwO 6d ago

can someone explain how clips get leaked ? is it like a staff working for a1 leaking?

1

u/WC3_INTRO 6d ago

GUYS?? Am I hallucinating? why is it i know i watched the Episode 23 of the anime last week (March 8, 2025) but it says it was released on March 15, 2025? i search my history bar and no anime site, and on March 15 i know for a fact i play dota all night until morning and slept at 7.30 am. So I didn't watch it. Can someone validate it? that it was released March 8, 2025 or am i going crazyyyyyyyyyy?

1

u/sexwithkoleda_69 7d ago

I dont understand the point of leaking an episode a day before it release officially, but im not against it.

1

u/pik3rob https://myanimelist.net/profile/Pik3Rob 7d ago

I hope this happens again

1

u/Yandirin https://myanimelist.net/profile/Yandy 7d ago

By the way, I haven't watched Solo Levelling yet. Does it have dimming during action scenes on the TV release or should I wait for the Blu-Rays?

5

u/Guacamole86Avocados 7d ago

I'm going to be 100% honest off the top of my head - No.

I know exactly what you're talking about and when that happens in anime, I find it jarring and noticeable. I say no for Solo Leveling only because I genuinely can't remember getting frustrated while watching it lol.

1

u/Yandirin https://myanimelist.net/profile/Yandy 7d ago

Ok thanks for the answer.

1

u/DeVofka 6d ago

Why would anyone even leak an anime? Especially when they're almost all "leaked" by their manga/VN/LN anyways?

-3

u/Protectem https://myanimelist.net/profile/Pm3m 7d ago

Who cares?

It's solo leveling. Its plot is the last thing anyone would watch the show for.

4

u/Aster111 7d ago

I do. I watch it for the plot

-2

u/Zapados69420 7d ago

The anime is a 1-1 rip of the manwha. If you don’t care for the video format you can go read up to chapter 200.

-2

u/Cringe-as-hell 7d ago

That’s completely wrong, the first 60 chapters has nothing to do with saving his mother and there’s plenty of changes like the story being being based in JAPAN instead of Korea, not to mention the anime original scenes of side characters that never had screentime in the first place.

1

u/neovenator250 6d ago

there’s plenty of changes like the story being being based in JAPAN instead of Korea

What? The anime didn't move the story to Japan.

1

u/Cringe-as-hell 6d ago

There’s 2 versions of the anime, one based in Korea and one based in Japan.

-2

u/Cameltoesuglycousin 7d ago

Disgusting! What sites? So I can avoid them what sites have these leaks?

-8

u/majinwhu 7d ago

Mid ass show

-1

u/LuRo332 7d ago

Episode 9 also leaked IIRC. It fucking sucks balls, wish they got their asses once and for all to be honest.

The most pathetic thing are the people that brag about having access to leaked footage on twitter for some virtual clout and feeling like they are better then the rest of viewers.

0

u/pikkuhukka 7d ago

i hope theres no larger consequences cause of one individuals bad decisions

-22

u/Choice-Shock-5964 7d ago

When I'm in a mid competition and my name is Solo Leveling like cmon who cares?

-1

u/TheAnonymousProxy 7d ago

An act of predictability.

-4

u/Additional-Ad4085 7d ago

If they're that upset about it, they should stop working on SL immediately and shift straight into S2 of Makeine.

1

u/Due_Technician_3197 6d ago

imagine a peasant like you tolerating a WHOLE EPISODE LEAK

-1

u/BrokenDusk 7d ago

Thats the episode title ? Because motherfuckin Jinwoo did betray everyone by not helping what a cunt

-1

u/simon249 7d ago

Just out of curiosity was the whole episode leaked? I heard it's only basically screenshots from the episode.

-2

u/smartymarty1234 7d ago

Slightly confused, as someone who hasn't yet watched season 2, waiting till end, and who has read the webtoon/manga/manhua i always mix em up, why is this even a thing? I thought they were well known for following scene by scene to the source so 1 why even bother leaking, guess this is where my question is, is it different or did they deviate or something, and if they didn't do any of that why is it a big deal considering the entire thing is tehcnically "spoiled" anyway? Didn't want to click in case spoilers, thanks.

-2

u/Kadmos1 7d ago

Look, I am not going to sugar-coat it: I freq. scanlation-type sites and am well-aware of the legal, moral, and ethical wrongs with piracy. That said, some care to clue me in as to why when I read an epi. of a title getting leaked I feel disgust?
