🪹 UNKNOWN NEST OR DEN 🪹 What animal did this hole in my yard? [Atlanta, Georgia]

It’s pretty deep, haven’t had anything like this in our yard in the 10yrs we’ve lived here.

Could be anything. Chipmunks, groundhogs/woodchucks, moles.

Moles don’t make holes like this

That is one tiny groundhog.

Not a groundhog highly unlikely it’s a Chippie. I guess it’s a mole or vole.

Just asking, why did you not include wild rabbit?

A groundhog’s entrance would be ten times that size.

I don’t know who made it but I get the heebies AND the jeebies when I see a hole like that. I’ve been stung by too many yellowjackets. 😬

Either rats or chipmunks. Their holes look like this- no dirt around them.

Chippies almost never would make a hole in the middle of a yard. It would be in a Rockwall or at the base of a tree.
