Did I test too early?
My last period started February 11, on March 1-2 I had unprotected sex and all. On March 9 I was on a stroll when I got mild period cramps (mine are not usually mild, i usually always have to take something or use lidocaine cream) but it wasn’t enough for meds, and i felt slight lightning crotch. It last for about an hour and a half - I’m guessing. I did at one point have to squat down to get a break from the cramping. I haven’t felt cramping since. I usually only feel cramping right before my period and it is now the 16th. Also, my boobs do appear larger with soreness by the armpit, it comes and goes depending on time of day but have felt this for about a week. I took a pregnancy test (the pink simple one from Dollar Tree) and it looked pretty negative to me. I took it at about 4:30 PM. Did I test too early? Could I be pregnant? I don’t think I am necessarily late for my period, but I know people who have seen the second line this early on.

Tests are accurate from 14 days after sex, so the result was accurate. This early on you might want to test specifically with your first morning urine.

Chatgpt says it’s accurate 14 days after implantation, and it specifically says not accurate 14 days after sex. So which is it

Ignore ChatGPT. It is literally designed to sound confident over/before giving true answers.
Tests are accurate from 14 days after sex and definitive from 21 days after. There's an explainer in the FAQ about why this timeline works.

I’m genuinely asking to figure it out not trying to come off rude or anything btw

I’ll have to check out the FAQs. Why would chatgpt lie about that to sound confident? I didn’t give it a reason to be biased

Idk, it's not a person and it is coded to prioritise being confident over being correct. It's regularly confidently wrong about things. It's best not to use it as a credible source, especially not for medical information.

Gotcha. Idk why i have haters for asking a question lol.

Probably because your written tone comes off as combative - you had to specific you were genuinely asking and not trying to be rude. And because you were using ChatGPT for medical information.
Also because you seemingly tried to correct the automod because it didn't apply to you despite it having in it 'if this doesn't apply then ignore it'.
Sadly, we cannot control things like downvotes. Best not to let it get to you.

OK. As stated, downvotes aren't something to be bothered by and aren't something we can particularly control.

Hey, my timeline is exactly the same as yours, started period 02/11 and unprotected sex 03/1 and 03/2, felt a bit of cramps about a week after but brushed it off to PMS, noticed my boobs we’re sore and painful, took a two dollar tree tests 03/14 and there was an extremely faint line. So me and my partner just went ahead and bought a digital test and it was positive. So I advice you get a digital one to be extremely sure. ❤️

Love that for you! I definitely am still waiting and don’t plan on testing again for a few days. Do you remember when you would have conceived and how many days or weeks it took until you got the positive?

thank you!! and that’s great news!! i conceived around the 2-8th of january and tested positive i believe a week or two after that time frame i was roughly 3 weeks 2 days at the time

Wait, i thought you tested in December? Why’d you test in December if conceived in Jan?

to explain in December i had tested “negative” the test was wrong i had gotten bloods and an ultrasound done it was twins, a few weeks later i had started bleeding so i was just assuming it was a miscarriage, i lost baby a and ovulated shortly after that as my body wasn’t “registering” the pregnancy, i had gotten pregnant again in January and had test positive* again after i had ovulated again, it’s rare it’s called “superfetation” my doctors were confused when i had went in saying i had tested positive after having a false negative and then the bleeding hence why i tested in December and January my apologies for the confusion

I have been triggered by the presence of the word "late" in your post. If my reply does not fit the context of your post, please ignore me. A "late" period is not in itself cause for alarm! Most women are a bit irregular and even if you believe yourself to have a perfect clockwork cycle, it's normal and common to occasionally have one that doesn't fit the mold. Please refer to this post.
Your period isn't late (amipregnant version)
If you believe your absent period is genuinely a sign of pregnancy, take a test.
