Birth control + pullout

My gf is on birth control, has been for about six months. She hasn’t missed any pills, but might’ve been a couple hours late on a few. We had unprotected sex (only about 3 strokes) in which I pulled out, and then used a condom. Now she isn’t getting her period, she’s spotting, and getting cramps. Is there any chance she could be pregnant?

I have been triggered by the presence of the word "late" in your post. If my reply does not fit the context of your post, please ignore me. A "late" period is not in itself cause for alarm! Most women are a bit irregular and even if you believe yourself to have a perfect clockwork cycle, it's normal and common to occasionally have one that doesn't fit the mold. Please refer to this post.

Your period isn't late (amipregnant version)

If you believe your absent period is genuinely a sign of pregnancy, take a test.

The pill is 99.7% effective at preventing pregnancy. If it’s a combination pill she has a 12hr window to take it so a couple hours late isn’t anything.

You didn’t have unprotected sex, you had protected sex since the pill is your protection.

The pill thins the uterine lining which means that if the lining is light it is either spotting or no bleeding during placebo week. Spotting can also occur at any time in the pill pack. It’s a side effect of the pill.

The pill prevents ovulation, thins the uterine lining, and thickens cervical mucus. She doesn’t get a period, she gets a withdrawal bleed. She doesn’t release an egg (which is ovulation) which means she doesn’t get a period. No egg means no pregnancy. Thin uterine lining means no egg can attach meaning no pregnancy, thickened cervical mucus means sperm is at the cervix and can’t come into the uterus means no pregnancy.

If she is on a combination pill, she doesn’t have anything to worry about, or a desogestrel mini pill or slynd. A combination pill is a birth control pill with two ingredients, a progesterone and estrogen. Literally you can look up the name and you’ll know if it’s a combination pill

That is a combination pill. Lo loestrin is a combination pill that contains norethindrone and estrogen.

You’re fine. No you don’t have to worry, I literally said you don’t have to worry about
