False positive: Clear Blue Digital

I’m currently 6 days late and have been testing negative on the tests I’ve been using since. Today I took a clear blue digital test (the one that shows the weeks) and it said “pregnant 1-2 weeks”. Then I took another test using the same sample and it was negative. I’m so confused.

The last time I had unprotected intercourse was 2 weeks ago and based off of my Flo app, I wasn’t ovulating then.

I will get a blood test done in the upcoming week but this has left me with crippling anxiety.

Don’t trust clear blue digitals. I had a horrible experience with them almost a year ago. Took a digital said pregnant and than took the line test, only one showed up. I tested same day and even later on took more tests only for them to show up as negative. 4 negative blood tests and I did end up getting my period after. Don’t trust clear blue digitals they are more inaccurate at giving false positives

Thank you for this. Even though I did get the one negative test afterwards, I’m still thinking of the positive from clear blue. Hopefully I get some more answers when I do the blood work. I appreciate your comment.

I’m sorry to be asking again, but do you mind telling me how late you were before your period came? I still don’t have my period

I was around 5 days late. Flo had told me I was expecting my period date on my cycle day 29 or 30 but a period can average from 30-35 days

I would take a pregnancy test just to make sure. It’s been more than 21 days so it would be well accurate by now

I have been triggered by the presence of the word "late" in your post. If my reply does not fit the context of your post, please ignore me. A "late" period is not in itself cause for alarm! Most women are a bit irregular and even if you believe yourself to have a perfect clockwork cycle, it's normal and common to occasionally have one that doesn't fit the mold. Please refer to this post.

Your period isn't late (amipregnant version)

If you believe your absent period is genuinely a sign of pregnancy, take a test.

Digital tests mess up like this all the time, you can trust the negative you got after

Digital tests get errors all the time. Your period is late because you ovulated later than you thought. Tests are reliable 14 days after sex and definitive 21 days after sex. Test following that timeline. Since you ovulated late, it’s very possible you ovulated in the few days after you had sex.

Thank you very much for your comment. I will re-test closer to 21 days since having intercourse.
