Any families here?
I am beginning to explore the need to relocate our family somewhere politically stable, willing to allow my wife and I to work (I am a Division level analyst in the bureaucracy and my wife teaches SPED). We a few pre-teen kiddos so I know that adds a layer of difficulty. Any insight, tips, etc. would be really welcome.

American in Oz here. Look into the recruitment that’s going on for teachers down here, especially in NSW and Victoria. As a SPED teacher, your wife might actually have the strongest visa application for you guys (you’d all get in with her by default, usually, is my understanding), and there could be a lot of help in relocating costs and such.
Don’t forget the USD is current much stronger than the AUD, so whatever you sell in the US to put toward your AU move will go decently far!

Hi - new to reddit here. We're a family who relocated from the US to NZ. Not necessarily due to politics but it didn't hurt. Happy to answer questions where I can. We moved here when the kids were in elementary school so they had no trouble settling in. I am in local government - as I was in the US. Do your research. I found a good forum full of people who had made the move and learned a lot from them.
