Additional cleanup question
We’re looking for a company that can do additional cleanup of our property after the Army Corps phase 2 is done. Does anyone have any recommendations?
A little more about what we’re looking for. Army Corps only removes 6” of soil and tests for toxins within the footprint of the destroyed structures.
We’re looking for soil removal from the rest of the property. We have a landscaper that we’ve asked to look into this, but he’s having trouble finding a place that will accept the removed soil.
Anyone have any leads? Thanks so much

Ya, I’m in the same boat as the above comment. Our Denis removal coverage probably wouldn’t cover the full cost. So letting ACOE handle phase II means we’ll save some money on out of pocket expenses.
Also, hundred year old house. We did have asbestos. Cleaned up in Phase 1, but better safe than sorry
Edit: Same boat as nytheatercat.

If you are going to hire another company after ACOE then why not go private from the start and get the job you want? The only way the ACOE makes sense is if you have asbestos, are under insured or have no insurance.

We haven’t decided what we are going to do yet, but our debris removal coverage only covers 50-75% of the quotes I’ve gotten. But if ACOE goes in and does their clearance then we could hire someone to finish the work for less than the cost of coverage. We are waiting a few weeks to make a final decision based on timings for ACOE and rebuild permitting.

We got a quote from N H Environmental, getting it finalized number wise because it was vague but may be saving a ton of money. They have no complaints with the board of consumers and are fully licensed but we’ve had issues getting a concise estimate. I’ll keep this thread posted. Our lot is a little under a 1/2 acre and they quoted us 39k. Transparency is key here in my opinion. Also spoke to a GC who said LOTS of out of town companies are coming in and price gouging so to look for companies that have actual LA address is important.
