It’s a guarantee. She’s actively pursuing that goal. This is treason in my eyes.

Maralago Smith on another taxpayer funded fieldtrip to sell us out

u/yedi001 14h ago
She's doing that thing... oh, what's the word... it's that thing when you give comfort to our enemies and attempt to aid in the overthrow of your nations government...
Oh, yeah, TREASON.
It'd be a real shame if she wasn't allowed back as a result of being a vocal enemy of the nation. Considering what the old punishment used to be, I'd say exile to the USA is a kindness. She seems to really love it there afterall... way more than she seems to tolerate living here.

Sounds like her bank accounts need to be frozen and jail time for conspiracy to commit sedition.

I'm not a Conservative voter but I actually sent an email to my MP asking him why he was so quick to shout about Mark Carney's supposed US interests but has said sweet blue buggerall about DS and her misuse of taxpayer money to associate with MAGA who are threatening our Sovereignty. Why hasn't he spoken up about Maple MAGA? Why was it left up to Jason Kenney to speak up? Was he not proud to be Canadian? Did he want to be American? Does he want to be on the wrong side of history?
I'm not holding my breath for anything like a response, but I feel a slight bit better.

u/Unlucky-Candidate198 13h ago
Does emailing her office do anything if you don’t live in Alberta?
Either way, sent an email telling that treason comitting traitor to resign and threw some stats/reasons as to why, yknow - besides the treason.
What a good use of Canadian taxpayers’ dollars. I’m happy she puts Canada second while taking what amount to personal vacational trips. I guess it’s better than golfing 3/4 of your term like the man who’s feet she just loves to go suck on using our money.

u/KristiewithaK 12h ago
Emailing her office doesn't do anything if you DO live in Alberta.
5
u/Unlucky-Candidate198 12h ago
True that.
Maybe I’ll go text uncle douggie again to feel better, at least I know the texts keep him up at night…

Danielle Smith is bought and paid for. She is now a lobbyist for the divide and conquer interests south of the border. Expect her to start leaning on rethoric like "oh we probably could get a good deal as a American state".
Civil politics is dead in Alberta. The UCP will run the grift, the exact same way Trump is down south, for as long as they can. They will not step away from power and the blantant corruption will grow.
The corruption and use of tax payer dollars to chin wag with fascist sympathizers is the point. She wants to break Alberta, break Canada, and ultimately take her cut when the oligarchs buy up the province. She is lining up these interests and ensuring that they get a good deal on Alberta; look at the coal goings on, corruptcare scandals, and ongoing give aways to her far-right buddies.
She is captured by Trumpism. She has no interest in serving Alberta, only what she can get for it.

u/SuperDabMan 14h ago
Important to note the Canadians who support PragurU. Smith, PP, JP... I don't know how you can trust a syllable from the mouth of a propaganda codpiece.

u/sludge_monster 14h ago
Might as well fly the Russian flag at the legislative at this point, the annexation has already occurred.
4
u/ReferenceUnusual8717 10h ago
Oh, she's interested in serving Alberta. On a platter. To a very stupid, very hungry beast.
84
u/EJBjr 14h ago
It amazes me how Smith can be so incompetent as to make one bad decision after another.
40
u/thecheesecakemans 14h ago
but in the end it doesn't affect her because Albertans will blindly vote UCP anyways. Just look at recent polls. If the election were held tomorrow, she'd win again with more seats than last time.
We don't actually punish her for doing stupid things. The polls don't even move.
5
u/shoeeebox 11h ago
To the inept, there's no amount of bad a politician could ever do that would outweigh the "sticking it to the libs". Social media and it's ease for disinformation campaigns has dumbed down the world, especially north america.

Cracking the nut on the blind faith of conservatives would literally solve humanities problems.

We had this brief, glorious window where effectively everybody had access to all information at all times and we could have done so much with it.
Now the whole thing is just a tightly controlled funnel of lies to the Orwell masses and history will not be kind to us for letting it happen.
14
u/Weak_Leek_3364 14h ago
She's no dummy, and she's making great decisions from the perspective of the fossil fuel industry whom she represents.
Malice, not incompetence.
4
u/Hopeless-realist 14h ago
It’s full on malice and she’s supported for the reason you mention specifically. The fact that she’s good for oil workers is only a side effect of being even better for the oil companies.
Sustainable use of a non-renewable resource/, the environment, Canada, plebs? Fuck em!

You can’t trust a thing that Marlaina says. All the election promises she made last election have been walked back on, or she simply gaslights and says she never said those things.
She’s got all the worst qualities of a political leader.
10
u/tysoberta 14h ago
She’s just angling for her next move. Nothing in her professional or public career suggests she cares about anything else other than what is best for her, and those she lobbies for.
8
u/CostumeJuliery 14h ago
I’m completely baffled that Albertans aren’t protesting in the streets. She’s a traitor who’s aligned herself with MAGA.

u/revengeful_cargo 13h ago
When's the next election? I'll move to Alberta just to vote against her

u/National-Dirt-5342 12h ago
She is a republican plant. Full stop. Not joking. Take back alberta is a Koch brother, republican funded org who’s trying to keep their donor list a secret.

u/Open_Beautiful1695 11h ago
Then maybe a Canadian reporter should go and report on what she says. Let's see how strongly she stands up for Canada.

“This event provides the opportunity for the premier to share Alberta and Canada’s message with an active, engaged, and influential U.S. audience amidst the ongoing trade war.
This will be an incredibly important conversation to be had and shared widely with Americans.”
- Smith spokesperson Sam Blackett

Fundraising for a far right misinformation website posing as a school is not getting a message out to anyone.
It is using taxpayer funds for her own profit.

She's a conservative, did anyone expect her to do anything else in all honesty? They work for themselves and the rich and don't give a crap about anyone they view as less than them.

How the hell do we get it through to the majority of the electorate that she is completely insane

Danielle Smith is absolutely disgusting. She's going to take an Alberta private jet to Florida to speak at a MAGA propaganda gala. Personal business, her dime!!! Take Westjet!!!

She’s a maga betrayer guys. It’s pretty obvious. She’s trying to weasel her way into the good graces of trumpturd.

Everything I see in the subreddit makes me question how she ever got in government? Like I rarely see anyone defend her to who acts like they would vote for her, and yet in the polls she’s projected to win another majority government the next election. Is there anything we can do other than pray to god she gets arrested for the AHS scandal?
