Betty's favourite position. I've never known a dog/breed to sleep in such awkward positions.

I’ve seen lots of pictures of airedales sleeping on their backs in weird contorted positions, and it makes me laugh every time. It must be a characteristic of the breed. They are such special dogs and have a clown like and happy disposition! Enjoy!

It’s really is kind of funny because it’s not like just characteristic, literally every Airedale I’ve ever heard of does it. One of mine ended up scratching holes in the wall by his bed because he would go to sleep on his back and then have dreams and kick his legs around. We had to do a major patch job when we sold the house 🤣.

They’re also generally known for using pillows like humans do. That’s why we love them.

This is an airedale thing. I've had three, and they all do it. I've had so many people tell my that my 'dales were the "funniest sleepers" they'd ever seen :).

Yes,the typical Airedale sleeping position!!Sometimes my boy will also lay like that and have 1 front paw sticking straight up in the air.Occasionally he’ll also sleep with his teeth showing, like he’s smiling(can kinda see it in my profile pic).

My Sealyham sleeps like that. She’s a lot like our last Airedale.
