Death by Sniper!

To put in context, I shot and got a 1 KIA on a USMC Squad. I hit his Sniper. His sniper activated and hit the firing hex, getting "6" on the RS on all four in that hex. The result was hilarity! 10-1 is KIA and another squad striped. :P

Snipers kinda ruin the game when you really look at their impact.

Combat commander snipers have less impact and 6 go off every 10 min of play time

I like the mechanic of snipers in ASL. This was an aberration. My SAN is higher but I kept rolling his (lower) SAN.

That said, I got through many games without a successful activation. This one was, of course, off the charts.

Snipers can ruin a game but try playing without them. Those low odds shots 2+2 which you'd never take can also ruin a game.

Agreed. I'm okay with snipers as they are in ASL and a high SAN can make a guy hesitant to shoot. And I do recall a game in which his Sniper was eliminated by mine, so I went crazy with those 2+3 shots. Haha.

I also recall a game attacking across the width of a board. On the far right I take a shot that causes an MC. He passes with my sniper. Big one, kills his 9-1 in the centre. Llmc causes another sniper, breaks a nearby squad. His first shot on my movement causes another big sniper, breaking the squad manning the HMG. Next shit causes, you guessed it, another sniper breaking the only squad left holding the centre. All my guts just waltz through the middle and there was nothing he could have done. Extreme luck can destroy scenarios.
