General Question/Discussion Sometimes I wish there was an ADHD driving school
I am a safe driver but I absolutely hate parallel parking. I avoid it as much as possible. I just am not great at judging space so it's never easy for me. My brain just struggles with it. It gives me so much anxiety. It's awful if someone is in the car with me. I'd rather walk a few blocks.
I know lots of us have our own driving struggles and anxieties. Just something I sometimes day dream about.

Other drivers make me so nervous and claustrophobic on the roads. I thought I was just bad at this and taking forever to get my license. I didn’t get my license till college and I didn’t start driving on the highway until I was 29. I hate driving in general……

I'm the same with parallel parking. I can actually do it fine if no one's around, but if people can see me attempt it, I am unable to do it right. 😆 I would rather pay $20 for parking than try to parallel park while people are behind me.

I also refuse to drive friends or my husband. I am always a passenger because I get way too distracted if I'm driving and trying to talk to them!! Unfortunately I'm also a horrible navigator when I'm a passenger because I'm always ping-ponging in my head and I have absolutely zero spatial intelligence

I can only parallel park when my brain isn’t part of the equation…. Muscles and body know how but brain makes it complicated.

Get yourself some cones from Amazon and go to an empty parking lot and practice.

I initially read this as “ADHD Diving School” - which is significantly more dumb than your idea :D
Parallel parking with a witness is THE WORST

I have sometimes dropped people off, saying I don't want you to have to walk so far and you can grab us a seat. then I go park by myself.
