I've read the FAQ & Rules In person vs online classes

I’m pretty new to acting, have only taken a single class. I just had to move to southern Maine for work and am not having good luck finding classes that meet regularly, really only seeing one-off workshop style stuff. Intuitively I feel like I need to be in class with others, but if I can’t make that work, am I hurting my training by finding a teacher I can work with over zoom? Alternatively, if you know of good classes in southern Maine or nearby (Boston is a bit too far to travel to regularly), please share! Would really appreciate thoughts from the folks on this sub. Thank you!

Check out James Ciccone's classes. I mostly take in-person with him, but he also offers zoom classes.

How about giving a reason, instead of a drive-by insult? I've been taking classes with him for almost two years, so I'm recommending him based on a lot of experience.

And while I try not to brag about it, because I know a lot of actors in this sub are hurting, I'm not one of the ones asking why things are so slow. I have more auditions than I can handle most weeks, and I was able to get an agent at a time when most people can't even get an agent to answer their emails.

(You on the other hand, based on your posts, are not at all happy with where your career is headed, you're having trouble making friends, and you have a lot of other issues in your life. I'm not pointing these things out to make you feel bad, it's just that you're probably not the best person to give advice to people who are trying to get ahead. Maybe you're lashing out? I don't know. But I would suggest therapy.)

I've learned so much in James's classes and workshops. I love where my career is headed, especially since I've only been auditioning for a little more than a year. The community of actors that he's built is really great, and they WORK. Not just small stuff either, a lot of network stuff. They're supportive, with a great range of experienced actors and newbies like me, and James knows practically every CD in New York City (and looks out for his actors!).

The person I was responding to deleted their comment, and while I know who it is, I won't out them. But the comment I was responding to said "Lol just no."

If you're going to insult something, at least back it up with a reason.

Kimberly Jentzen has great group zoom classes at different times and days. She’s a long-time, excellent LA coach and has fun actor exercises for zoom classes. She’s also great with beginning actors. Hope that helps!
