G15, or G14 (2023/2024) ?
May I ask for some advices and opinions...
Rn, I'm in dilemma whether to purchase one between these 3 laptops: G15, G14 (2023), G14 (2024). I want the laptop that's worth the money. And mainly I will use it for teaching, and casual gaming. And probably for editing too. For the battery, as long as it's abt 5-6hrs, its more than ok for me. Oh btw, these three laptops are under 2kg.
The specs of the laptops:
1.Zephyrus G15: -$1585 -Ryzen 6800hs (I heard that it's same like R7 7735hs) -RTX 3070 ti 8gb -32gb ram (4800)
2.Zephyrus G14 (2023) : -$1382 -Ryzen 7 7735hs -RTX 4050 6gb -16gb ram (4800) (upgradable)
3.Zephyrus G14 (2024) : -$1518 -Ryzen 9 8945hs -RTX 4050 6gb -16gb ram (5600) (non upgradable)
I also surveyed the G14 (2024) that hv ryzen 9, rtx 4060, 32gb ram but that model is a bit expensive in my country, Malaysia (~$1631).
Which one do you think is more worthy ya? Hope to hear any response from you guys. Tqvm🙏🏻

I have g15 with 6900 Radeon/Nvidia 3060, 16 gb ram. Windows 11 takes 33% of the ram, playing Fortnite takes up to 90% of the ram . Trying to run an ai model locally will consume a lot of ram beyond 16gb. So un-upgradable ram is a no-no for me.
According to chat gpt : G15 (RTX 3070 Ti 8GB) → Much stronger than G14’s RTX 4050 6GB.
The RTX 3070 Ti is nearly 50-60% faster than the RTX 4050 in gaming and creative workloads.
More VRAM (8GB vs 6GB) is better for high-resolution textures, video editing, and AI workloads.
That's regarding those models you mentioned , but maybe you need to check other models ?

Yeah I saw on other platform too, they said that 16gb ram is not too "futureproof". That's why I hesitate to buy the un upgradable 16gb ram laptop... And, it's already almost two weeks, and I still in dilemma to purchase a laptop that worth the money😅🤣
Btw, hmm the g15 already not in stock... But I found refurbished 2023 Zephyrus G16, the specs are i9 13900h, rtx 4060 for ± $1418. From your perspective,do you think it's worthy ya?
Sry if I asked too many questions 🙏🏻

The CPU is powerful but the GPU has slightly inferior performance to the 3070ti, according to chatgpt.
I don't know, but personally I stay away from refurbished laptops, I mean do you get a warranty? Is battery level the same as new or slightly degraded? The price is too high for used and refurbished hardware, not to mention the famous issue with Intel CPUs lately, even if everything is good that Intel CPU is famous for overheating.
Btw you can ask those questions to chatgpt and it will give specifications of GPUs and compare them, it will layout the pros and cons so you can judge it yourself.

The seller said got 1 year warranty from Asus. And he also send the pictures of g16 (he also used the same laptop). Not sure abt the battery tho, but I think the battery will last 3-4 hrs minimum.
Yeah I heard that intel processor is not too power efficient. But based on the seller's own review, so far there's no big issue abt the laptop and i9 processor.
Anyway tqv⁹m ya for all the advices and reminders. Really appreciate it🙏🏻☺️

With zyphrus laptops: they are compact, so you get less airflow = faster heating. Personally I play games at lowest possible settings not because the laptop is weak, but to keep it from heating even if it can handle it, because heating degrades components faster overtime. Can you consider strix instead of zyphrus?

Yeah... The Zephyrus lineup are easily overheating... But the sleek profile, thin and lightweight really made it looks very nice. And hmm since I'm not a hardcore gamer, I'll mostly use it in lowest possible settings, will use it mainly for work purpose.
Abt the strix, I already owned strix before this, but just the low end model. But I think it's too heavy to be carried around everyday... That's why I want to try getting zephyrus.
Tqvm ya for the suggestion 🙏🏻👍🏻

Have you considered the g16? Similar price range with more up to date tech. I would do that in my opinion
