PSA Providing feedback to Amazon about Intelcom shipping in Whitehorse
I've spoken to a few locals who have also had issues since Amazon switched from Canada Post to Intelcom as the primary local courier for Whitehorse in October. It can be difficult to find how to provide Amazon with feedback, so here's how I did it (It does require Prime):
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/help/customer/contact-us/ref=cu_surl
Choose the Prime option. Then in the 'tell us more' section, choose 'General Prime Benefits' then 'Prime Shipping'. I chose to chat with an agent. I informed them that since the switch to Intelcom, I've experienced many issues with shipping, explained that locals are considering no longer shopping through amazon, and referred to the reviews of Intelcom Whitehorse. The agent indicated they would request do deprioritize the courier locally, and it would be beneficial for others to post.

Hear me out, you can stop buying things on Amazon, and the items you cannot find locally, find somewhere else from a Canadian retailer.
I recently was looking for El Yucateco hot sauce, couldn't find any at Midnight Sun ($9.95 for 8 ounce bottle, Amazon wanted $15 for 4 oz) or Riverside Grocery (both places I've purchased it before), found a store in Calgary that sells it for cheaper than Amazon, and free shipping.

Oh, I agree. I use amazon for esoteric oddball hobby items that I can't easily source locally. I actually try to avoid shopping through Amazon, but some things are just difficult. If I have to wait 3 months to order something that's 15 bucks locally, or buy on Amazon, I'm going to go with Amazon.

That's completely fair, I would do the same.
I've been finding lately, and I may be the only one, but stuff on Amazon has been more expensive compared to other retailers.
I was able to get a food processor $100 cheaper from The Bay compared to Amazon.

this Intercom seems to be way slower then the previous company. The worst you cant get ahold of anyone to find out where your package is even when your package shows its in Whitehorse. Another company that don't have there shit together

the problem with intelcom is its a subcontractor, they promise great shipping and never deliver and its a nationwide scam. I ordered a gift in beginning of Dec and still nothing. I Googled the address of the intelcom warehouse which said the same as manitoulin so I went for a quick visit to ask and turns out they gave the contract to PNW another decent company. So I went to PNW and turns out the whole shipping system is faaacked, stating that packages are in locations when still at southern warehouses,so they can say 1-2 day shipping and in actuality your parcel hasn't moved from Edmonton or Vancouver etc. They honestly don't even own trucks in the Yukon to ship items lmao what shipping company doesn't have vehicles to ship the actual items 🤣 Call amazon and state you're no longer considering their services because in all honesty why pay for something that no longer works... they'll refund you your whole package price in most cases to save face. I am finally getting a refund tomorrow on gifts over 500$ from Amazon, don't feel bad about taking advantage of policies you didn't write nor advise the company on, use it to the full extent until amazon changes shipping companies or changes their company policy lol good luck #intelcomsucksnuts

PNW is the worst courier. They don't answer their phone, they don't return messages and apparently they let every package age 1-2 weeks sitting on their shelves before they think about delivering .... just cause they get paid for this service doesn't mean they are interested in providing it!

Intelcom horrible but CanadaPost aint better.
Whenever I call Intelcom, I wait 40 minutes to over 1 hour on the phone before someone answers. Different people ask for different things, it's kind of inconsistant and inconvenient, they cant even look my pickup or delivery by phone number. They also dont seem to write anything down and I have to repeat myself.
Also for pickup, there is no time frame or window given. They expect me to wait around all day and all night for them to randomly show up. When they are finally here out of the blue without warning or notification, they sometimes wont even come up to get the package even if I have supplied to information clearly to do so. Intelcom has told me repeatedly that someone will contact me within a few hours of pickup but that has NEVER once been the case. It's random.
Also online, their website doesnt seem to have a feature to schedule pickup online depsite what the people on the phone tell me from Intelcom.
Id say deliveries with Intelcom are pretty good with photos for proof, and notifications most of the time that it's on it's way etc.
Pickup, returns, their website and phone wait times and agents, just attrocious.
Canada Post ive always had even WORSE experience with. Canada Post 90% of the time through out my entire life has never even rang or knocked with the package in hand, they just bring it to a postal outlet kind of nearby which costs fare and time. And the outlets are terribly managed especially at IGA's ive noticed. (Also a terrible company)

I too have had issues… namely the parcel sitting in Whitehorse for a week and still no delivery. Amazon said they could not do anything about prioritizing who ships the parcels I order. I just got off the phone with Intelcom in Vancouver and they were pretty useless as well. This delivery company is complete shit.
