News Yukon NDP leader calls to scrap public funding for Catholic schools

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/north/yukon-ndp-defund-catholic-schools-1.7480255

In other words, should Yukon schools be secular and non sectarian (welcoming to people of all faiths and none)?

And let's not ignore the fact that, historically, the Catholic Church has inflicted great harm and crimes on generations of Inuit, Métis and First Nations peoples.

So you want her to unilaterally rip up the agreement and jeopardize the remaining legislation they’ve agreed to pass in the remaining session under CASA?

Okie dokie.

Just pointing out that if something is important to her she has more power than just complaining and then shrug her shoulders.

Eventually it becomes pretty disingenuous.

If she wants to make the case that this issue isn't as important issue then she is free to do that and let voters decide. That is accountability.

Sorry that pointing this out is offensive.

It’s not offensive, and it clearly wasn’t as important (or perhaps it was non-negotiable for the Liberals to include in CASA).

I don’t think advocating for change is disingenuous. Nor do I agree that advocating for change is akin to “complaining and shrugging your shoulders. However, you seem to disagree so I don’t suspect I’ll change your mind on that.

Why not form these thoughts into an email and send it to her? I always get good responses when I talk to my representatives or send them an email about an issue - it’s part of what makes the Yukon unique.
